Reading on the Claremont site of a dud recruit by the name of Marcus Allen made me think of similar high profile recruits at Subi that disappointed,namely Adam Campbell and Jack Anthony.Anthony was not a recruit but aligned to Subi from the Dockers who must have lost a fortune on him after he moved across from Collingwood.He was hopeless for us.Campbell was recruited by then coach Chris Waterman who stated at the time that he thought Campbell had more upside potential to reveal which totally surprised me.No wonder Waterman never made it as a coach with judgments like that.To a lesser extent,Joey Daye came with big wraps after playing a handful of AFL games and being related to Essendon star Michael Long.His first season was ok but his second year was disappointing when he looked like Tarzan and played like Jane.Any thoughts on other big name disappointments at any WAFL club?

Swans a few years ago got a ruckman who played for Collingwood during the early 2000's.

Don't remember his name but then again his time with Swans was forgettable.

From EP was a guy by the name of C Judd he only played the one game then never seen in the WAFL again

Guy Richards was his name turtle.

Never heard of him BH!Kyle Reimers at Perth and Kayne Pettifer at EP also come to mind as flops. Leon Davis,though not a recruit as such at Perth,must have been a disappointment to Demons fans and cost the club a pretty penny in the process of relocation.

Big Ronny Bayens (Subiaco to SF)

Loved the big fella but he was pretty much gone by the time he was cleared to South I think in either 1980 or 81
Umpired not long after that I think

Another was Mark Jackson and a flop named Andrew Vanderfeen from Tassie

Footnote: I saw Jacko kick 9.0 in the first half against West Perth in his second stint here - never got near it in the second half or even looked like it - farken weird bloke at times

There is another - Paul Arnold , but at least Arnie did kick some bags along the way , we eventually cleared him back the old Royals (the real Royals that is)

Forget Marcus Allen, John Spaull was the recruit to end all recruits at Claremont. Came from North Melbourne to Claremont when Bomber Riley was coaching to much fanfare. Big spread in the West. Did preseason, palyed about 4 games, took mark of the week, rolled his ankle, then headed back to Melbourne. Returned the next preseason under Bomber Riley, again to much fanfare, the West bought in again, feature story about how bad he felt leaving the club the way he did and wanted to make up for it......returned to Melbourne halfway through preseason

Guys who went to Swans in the 1980s and never amounted to much like Brett Farmer, Chris Allen, Paul Vasoli and Wayne Simms
