Sadly, that sounds spot on. With the recent developments at Perth, will they be the next club down the spout!? :(
The whole stupid debacle will continue and carry on, sad to say
Can't see any alignment fights going to happen anywhere this summer.

There will be a fight, a huge amount of chest beating just like last year. It will all be for show though as they know they will only get token change if anything.

As I said before, are we going to let our Presidents get away with it? They will put up a huge defense of "the integrity of the competition" but when they get the most they can out of their own supporters and sponsors they will return to the "nothing can be done" attitude.

We should hold them to account. The louder they are, the more they should be forced to back up any threats. No suggestions of boycotts, forfeits or refusing to play aligned teams in the pre season only to submit when it comes time to commit to the threats.

Agree 100% Barney and I have said it before. The true supporters will just fade away.
The WAFL will have its novelty days and dedication days etc etc which seems to be happening a lot more now (eg WP) But those days will be occasion days that will draw in some but not the regular WAFL supporter.
I am going to give it one more year... EP wins 2 GF in a row an I am gone. Why play all season and support your club all season when the result will be the same as the last time they tried the Alignment... 3 premierships to EP albeit one off the back of the alignment. 3 Farken years that other CLUBS never stood a chance. :(

Going to a Amateur game CBC V UNI Saturday this week and WP ressies on Sunday.
To get my footy fix might have to jump the fence and just follow the Amateurs as when I go to their games it reminds me of the Good old days and it is pretty much a even playing field.

The only people who are laughing at the moment are the EP and Peel Football Clubs(sic)
They have won the lottery with the finances being paid for by their AFL aligned side
The germ Dawson must be laughing his head off when he collects his Full time wages from the Eagles along with a lot of others.

Dawson must be on a bit as he was on WAFL WORLD and when asked about comming back to coaching he said he didnt have the time due to away work commitments up North I think
A couple of weeks later he was appointed the EP coach...
This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

Cardy -- always good to read your contributions, mate; try not to lose heart over the alignment.

The attitude of the PFC has certainly clarified things, enlightenment, which, for me at least, has its good and bad aspects. First and foremost, the fact that a majority of boards were, and are, actually, in favour of the alignment. This nasty little fact, all on its own, has prevented any concerted action against the alignment. In this light, the efforts of Raponi and others will be crucial to make certain that, over time, the alignment -- be it with EP or PFC -- does not destroy the competition.

The WAFL Commission has promised to review, and reform, if necessary, the alignment on an yearly basis and it should be made to do so. Just as a start, the EP premierships in the past should be denoted officially as separate from the original EP club.

Cheers

AR which is more believable:

you look outside today and not only is it snowing there are flying pigs everywhere; OR
the WAFC will do anything which the Eagles and Dockers don't want. i.e. limiting the number of players allowed to play in a league team?

Hi Swan, I hear and read you -- and at the moment I would take the pig option; things will change over time, depending on the number of premierships and so on. We need continued improvement from the traditional clubs, improvement which will mean it will not matter so much whom EP or P conscript to play for them

The problem AR is that you have a team with more than half of the players as full time football professional and one team semi-professional. So not only should they have an advantage over the other in terms of fitness, physical development and skills they also have the advantage of greater IT, training infrastructure and personnel, recovery regimes etc.

None of the G7 clubs can compete and the only hope is that there are a large number of injuries to WA domiciled AFL clubs which will impact on the relative strength of the non-G7 teams.

Swan 42: Your comments have been beautifully illustrated by the lose of Subiaco to-day.
