Sorry about replying to my own post, but have had second thoughts on the softest player. It had to be Brian Adamson from the Garlic Munchers. How he ever made state football I will never know. One of the few players I have seen back pedal on that stage many times. Very soft and will say no more.

That's the spirit Anchor....great to read some of these posts here...never expected this thread to be so educational which shows how much we miss identifying these type players from other clubs such can be the focus on our own. It's hard to follow the other 8 and even tougher when you have no interest in half of them. As always appreciate the insights of the Oz footy cru on here :)

I wouldn't be so sure of that, tried to jump in the crowd after doing a "Conca" on someone in a Resi's GF against East Perth and I think big Daniels IIRC correctly was going to kill him

Guys like Haydn Bunton, Craig Wulfe, Shane Beros, Ian Dargie were hard nosed in and under types which imo is what tough is all about...even Ali Pickett was tough in his own way given he was fearless against guys much bigger than he was.

Spot on, courage is the real form of toughness. Basil and Boucher were fearsome but would they be throwing their bodies around if they were 30 kg lighter? Perhaps, perhaps not. And that is why I'm yet to see a tougher player than ken hunter. Dean laidley is another that deserves mention.

Of more recent times, i was always a big fan of the little East Freo tagger Wayne Roser.
Always put what little of him there was on the line, and attacked the footy without fear.....

Marley and David Swan very hard at the ball and the player. Andrew Waller was crazy would run through brick walls.
