Do we even need the Foxtel Cup? What about a more meaningful interstate comp? Two divisions. WA, SA and Vic in Div A. QLD, NSW and Tas in Div B. Every state plays two games, one away and one at home with the champion team in each division being the team who wins both of their games or, if each team wins a game each, it goes on percentage. Something like this would give some meaning and purpose to interstate footy.

A fair, even, consistent set of fixtures for a nine team competition is not hard. There is NO need for teams to to play each other 2-3 weeks apart or 3 times in 8 weeks. It's not rocket science yet every season we seem to have these bizarre anomalies.

But for an eight or ten team competition it's even easier!!

Of course it is easy if you fixture like WAAFL with 2 rounds in same order but then again they don't let clubs have a say!
