Given we're roughly half way through the season I'd be interested getting poster's views on how clubs are going. here's mine....

Swans (A) - I think most pundits were of the view that Swans would finish in the bottom half but they're really performed well. the challenge will be not to drop off in the second half of the season.

Subi (B+) - like Swans most thought Subi would be around positions 5 - 8 but due to a terrific start they aren't too far off cementing a finals berth.

EF (B-) - Lost quite a few AFL aligned players over the summer to other clubs but have being two games clear in the four think they've punched abover their weight. Have a few returning from injury so may consolidate even further.

EP (C+) - Given their number of AFL players, access to high performance coaches and technology the WART should realistically only dropped one or two games. the other variable will be who will WCE make available for the finals and how dedicated will those players be to winning a flag for EP?

WP (C-) - On the back of last years flag I think most tipsters had them top 2 this year but from mine have underperformed.

P (D+) - I think comments on the Perth thread sum up their season. Promises a lot but delivers sporadically. Perth needs to be more consistent and that probably starts at the top.

SF (D+) - Rebuilding and isn't the worst going around but the doggies needs to build on their successful colts teams from the last couple of years if they want to be a future contender.

Cl (D) - Lost a lot of talent after being unbeatable for several years but I have no doubt they'll rebound in the not too distant future. The club seems to be heading in the right direction with the ground redevelopment.

Peel (F) - No comment necessary.

With the recruiting blitz Subiaco embarked on mate there is no way anyone thought they would finish 5-8! And you are where you probably should be this year with the list you have I had you in the top 4 and us around 5th/6th. I agree with most of your other summations..SF have underperformed and on paper still have a very talented team that we will have to be on our guard for this Sat at Frem oval, Perth are probably where they should be as they don't rally have a strong midfield or anyone to finish off anyway. East Fremantle= punching above their weight in 4th, I do think West Perth will be inspired to come home with a wet sail, slip into 4th
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

geez pleased to see EF sitting only 1 and 2 games behind Subi and SD respectively, considering the quality of wins and footy these two clubs have played so far this year.....plus SD & Subi both have three guys in the top ten goal kickers this season, whilst EF have only one......

...so I completely agree when folks say EF are punching above their weight.....haven't really played any fantastic quality footy like Subi and SD have done so far.....just steady grinding stuff TBH......is it going to be enough?.....probably not......would love to snag a Mitch Clark sized target up front.....aint gonna happen.....but if the likes of a Boland and Cary can kick a few bags for Subi and SD, then EF I reckon would be sitting prettier, if they could land their hands on a target up front.....

Well done to SD and Subi on their efforts so far......reckon those two sides are the only two capable of getting within 5 goals of EP come finals time.

I think your being generous with West Perth's mark.
Reigning Premiers and 2 games outside the top 4.
('D') is about where they are at at the moment and in a months time with games against the top 3 they could be looking at a (D-)

How long have South been rebuilding???
They havent done anything under Haselby and look like finishing low on the ladder again!!
Just like other struggling clubs,Perth included finals look a fair way off!

The rest of the comp is graded about right.

Reckon Cl grading is tad hard though....considering the amount of quality, experience and number of goals they have lost thru Medhurst, Richardson, and Jones leaving....they have been doing well winning as many games as they have!!......

Other than beating Subi which was one out of the box they've only got over Perth and Peel...which isn't exactly a shining endorsement of how their season is going.

Pretty sure they beat West Perth somewhere in there. Falcons have under performed horibly, or did last year they over achieve. Just saying
