In essence the concept of trying to win the game is a very poor relation to the aforementioned.

and Percy knows this to be a fact does he or is it just his opinion based on observations?

Cardy's post:

"just to back up what you are saying I checked the list on WAFL online and the following Eagles have already qualified with 5 games even though we are not even half way through the season
Brennan
Carter
Butler
Colledge
Hill
Lycett
Mcginnity
McGovern
Mcinnes
Sheed
Sinclair
Ash Smith
Tunbridge
Wilson

Thats 14 players.....scary really. As well as this Hutchings is on 3 so he will probably qualify as well and who knows if the Eagles season starts going down hill a number of other players may drop back for weeks if their AFL form drops away"

That is a possibility, but it is also disgraceful and an insult to the WAFL. If any WCEP player, coach, supporter goes into celebration mode after winning the flag, then that will show the quality of their moral fibre. That goes for the press as well, because you can bet your balls they will write up what a great team EP are - when in fact EP doesn't exist any more.

Were they playing the rolling maul and vacating the entire forward area like they do in that comp they call the AFL which masquerades itself as being Australian Rules Football. Great news to hear the cancer is spreading to real footy

That was exactly their game plan on Saturday DW and it made for a very ugly contest but thankfully we worked our way thru their defensive congested mauls brand ...and yet the brain dead Freo sycophants think that is good football to watch!

Having a look at the match details and it's unusual to see 2 goals 10 minors as the half time score. And normally Swan Districts are not that inaccurate. Looking at some figures and Swans are running along at second on the list doing 24 ball disposals / goal. pee mantle are worst at just over 34. Obviously the alignment is way off course there because the figures are fairly accurate. But Swans prevailed through the alignments crap and got the chocolates. :)

If that was what Peel was doing then it worked to a degree, Carey was held to 1 goal, and Swans to what 10?, but Peel had the same problem Freo have at times that if they don't get runs on the board whilst stifling the game it will come back to bite them.

Regardless of how you or anyone thinks Freo plays,it is the 4 points that matters over everything else. Bet you don't go back in Swans premiership year and go " Yep Round 13, that was when we played boring footy" it is only the end result that counts, ask Paul Roos I'm sure he agrees with that

Yes that's correct k. The 2 alignments are at different ends of the spectrum for sure. pee mantle seem to be there to simply make up the numbers. But finishing a game with a full time score of 5 goals 11 minors, and an accuracy rate of 49% gives no inspiration. Certainly will not win games. And our once great local comp has been dragged down to this low level.

BC I believe I said that it was Percy's view of the game as he saw it. I would suspect that in the 60 odd years of Percy's involvement in footy he would have some ability to make informed comments.

true 42.....good man Percy......doesn't mean he is always on the money though....which you SD boys seem to think a lot of the time......considering most of Freo's AFL listed guys play in the forward line, why would Freo be working on non listed guys to implement these Freo defensive techniques?.....
