2,501 according to the WAFL website.

Yep Swans are consistent. Highest 2,656 v West Perth at Steel Blue on Anzac Day.

Lowest 1,288 v Peel at Steel Blue on April 5.

The worst crowd of the year was that hopefully never to be repeated "experiment" where Claremont played a home game at East Fremantle Oval at 12.30. 1,087 was that figure and Subi have been playing catch up ever since.

All the attendances are here www.wafl.com.au/games

Looks like the so called "eastern derby" has died in the arse,

Is it ever played on Foundation Day ....NO!
The one year SD vs P was played on Anzac Day a few years back at Basso over 6k turned up which is more than have attended the Freo Derby on Foundation Day of late!

With a bit of luck that will be the case.

I always hope that WC and FD lose anyway.

It's the only way those knuckleheads will realise that there was nothing wrong with the old system. WC won premierships under the old system. The AFL listed players had responsibility and were expected to lead from the front for their WAFL club.

Now they are just having a tactics drill basically. It's not how I would want to prepare my back-up players.

La Hincha,
I wonder deep down how the East Perth players are feeling.
Johnson hardly did any rucking on monday. He had to play forward because Lycett and Sinclair were mainly used in the ruck. Brendan Lee had to play forward for a lot of the game because West Coast had the likes of Sheed, Hutchings and Butler playing through the midfield.
Interesting times because I would have thought Johnson and Lee are probably in the top 5 players in the WAFL.

Good point Beasley. I can't remember Perth ever playing on Foundation day. Why can't it be shared around. Surely Perth v Swans would attract just as big a crowd as the other games.

Did West Perth really have their junior district day on Monday? Heard they had 2500-3000 free tickets used.

Why would they do that on their busiest day when a chunk of them would pay to get in anyway and use the JD day for a quiet game during the season?

On the figures, it is only the second time this year this years ave has been better than last years year to date. Need a 2150 this week to keep ahead.

Last weeks crowds were great amazing. Interesting what happens when 'an anonymous club official' stops complaining to the West and we have two weeks of informative articles about the comp.

Lee doesn't play much forward that is wrong, Johnson I can't comment on his thoughts but he had an impact in the last quarter so it helped the team in that respect. This new alignment system is very unfair to the point East Perth will be virtually unbeatable if all players are realesed for finals. But to suggest the old system did not need fixing is wrong. I know you where referring to the way AFL players where split up but the league itself was dis functional. Perth not winning a flag for forty years EP not winning a legitimate flag for Forty years. One club having all the money the rest trading virtually insolvent. Junior zones contributing to two teams having most of the AFL players in their teams. Peel Thunder etc etc. The competition was fairer but no way in the world has it been fair for a long time.

EF and SF used to always have Jun Day Foundation Day, I noticed this year they didnt have it, dont think they we did last time either, it would easily add another 2000 to the figures when you stage it, if WP EP had there on foundation day then the figures are not that flash taking them out of it.

Raponi said on radio they had 4000 pay and it was record pay day. Also said the he thought best way to expose juniors was at a Derby in Joondalup. I tend to agree. WAFL needs new fans. With promotion our comp is alive

Agreed! That is why it was disappointing not to have the traditional Foundation Day Junior parade at Fremantle on Monday.
