Thanks LaH.

I suspect that the lowest crowd for most clubs would be their home games against Peel.

Thanks LaH - certainly puts Swans attendances into perspective. It was interesting that there was only one game on Saturday last week end - ostensibly so the ABC had a match to televise. Was there an explanation given as to why the game wasn't televised by the ABC on Saturday?

5,566 for a TV is about as good as anyone could hope for.

Once I read that the ABC had decided to telecast the Monday Derby I knew the figure would be reduced by at least a couple of thousand.

That's the trade-off.

In the old days of course only the last quarter was live on channel 2 and then there was a today's football at 6.00pm and then a replay of the second half at about 10.00pm after this day tonight or four corners or whatever it was.

I preferred that set-up. Specially with channel seven having highlights for an hour at 11.00am the next day followed by world of football at 12.

Good days. Sadly, we can't get them back. But we can have respectable figures like these. Anything less than 2,000 is not good enough I don't reckon even in today's climate.

La H I suspect the reason that they televised a match on the Monday was to try to maximise their ratings in a game which was not directly opposed to an AFL game. Given that the Swans Subi game is on the ABC what siz crowd do you think we will get next Saturday at Basso.

Oh, it's televised? That's a blow. Would have got 2,500/2,600 I reckon.

Oh wait, let me check what time the WA AFL clubs are playing.

hmm WC play Hawthorn at 11.40am. ABC WAFL coverage starts directly after at 2.00pm.

That's doomed any hope of getting a good turnout. No need for people to leave their couches.

Let's hope we can get 2,000

Maybe the Eagles's supporters will not want to watch the second half of their match.

With a bit of luck that will be the case.

I always hope that WC and FD lose anyway.

It's the only way those knuckleheads will realise that there was nothing wrong with the old system. WC won premierships under the old system. The AFL listed players had responsibility and were expected to lead from the front for their WAFL club.

Now they are just having a tactics drill basically. It's not how I would want to prepare my back-up players.

 Just had a look at the AFL ladder. Frem 7th and WC 11th and only worse to come.

Alignment :side: I thought it was designed to improve the performances of the AFL clubs.

They will learn the hard way that they are only hurting themselves.

wtf has happened to perth and more so swans?

east still have one more derby to go,

If Swans ever get to play a game on the stand alone Public Holiday Foundation Day like certain other clubs do evey year to boost their attendances it would get over 5k easily!
The one year we did we got well over 10k vs EP in the early 90's!
