I have just submitted my first story for Ozfooty, and let's hope it's the first of many.

There will be a lot of repeats, but I'll hopefully be doing new ones about stars of the past. If anyone can help with a contact number for a past player I'd love to hear from you...my email is This email address is being protected from spambots. Thought that while the trainer wheels are on for this site I'd kick off with a couple of discussion-starters...the first one is already in past and present players section.

A lot of the old players were readers of the Footygoss stories and hopefully they'll discover Ozfooty. Do you think we should have an easier to find section for the stories..eg Where Are They Now on the top of the home page?

I get the impression from Mike that he'd like this to be a community driven site so your input is welcome.

Yes, the idea of OzFooty.Net is to be community driven, and not a buisness. I only laid the foundations.

I would like to eventually appoint a member from each club to assist in moderation of their club's category. This will eliminate us Swan Districts supporters/members from having too much control

If you have an idea of who you would like to appoint (even yourself) to help assist in moderation, then email me at oldtorana @ gmail . com This way it is kept secret, and no one needs to be singled out. We'll try have this in place for the start of the 2013 WAFL season in some form.

If you also have something else to offer such as Ron has with his articles, then let me know too.

Glad to see the articles won't be lost, Ron. I'm a recent convert from footygoss and always enjoyed your Where Are They Now stories. As for the new site, I reckon it's fantastic. And the lack of spam is a Godsend.

Also not forgetting the lack of stupid adverts, pop-ups and the like! It is quite refreshing to visit a site such as this and not be bombarded with crap.

Yep, I'll drink to that. I think the stories are great. Good to read up about ex wafl players we all knew of and were familiar with.

Really enjoying the general football articles also...the full forwards...the greatest teams of all time.

Is it possible to maybe do the occasional one on a current star. I don't suppose the newspapers will be bothering anymore. I mean it would be great to read about how a great like Chance Bateman is doing or even a future top 10 draft pick like Dom Sheed, who is set to light up the WAFL in 2013. Then we have the great long time servants of the game like Kris Miller and at the same time a youngster from South Sudan like David Madut who could really draw people through the turnstyles at WAFL level.

Our comp still has some exciting things about it. But Iguess the mainstream media just don't care.
