With all due respect Mike, but why and when did football become the ambassador for every background, gender, disease and government anthems. It's just over the top. There has even been talk of a Gay Round in the AFL, which just defies any reason.

Football is Football, it shouldn't be hijacked from every angle.

Sorry, didn't absorb that last bit properly. But yes it wouldn't be a bad thing for EVERYONE to get on with life as one (humans) . All this endless focus on groups highlights what we are all against, and that is segregation . By highlighting it I think continues this notion . Does it not ?

There is a push from some of the WAAFL clubs to have a red arm band day. It doesnt matter what colour your skin is, what religion you believe in or what country you were born in, Everyone has red blood, what better way to recognise that we are all the same on the inside

This would be a more worthwhile approach. Maybe the next step is to get all factions together, stop rehashing old formats, and have one unified acknowledgement across the board. We are all one & we should celebrate it. I think this would make more inroads than the race appreciation rounds.

I bet it never happens though. Nobody will have the courage to approach the indigineous people in the thought they will be labled racist for mentioning it.

hence the problems we have now, and will have forever more.

What a brilliant idea! Probably a bit advanced for our WAFC or AFL boffins though. You think they would get the link? Nah don't think so.
