This is an opportunity that must not be missed. A public holiday when there are no AFL games and 3 WAFL games around the metropolitan area. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we could get good crowds at all three venues.

Firstly there is the Claremont v Subiaco game at the Show Grounds, which apparently is a good venue to watch footy. You would expect the Lions to win this game comfortably but Claremont have won their only game so far at their home ground and still have some classy players, so they could be competitive.

The West Perth V East Perth derby at Joondalup has all the ingredients of an explosive game. East Perth will be desperate for revenge after the 100 point thrashing earlier in the season and the GF loss in 2013. West Perth need the win to maintain their top 4 spot. There is a juicy history developing in these games and this one will be no exception.

Finally there is the Fremantle derby which is the most unpredictable game on the calendar. Both teams need the four points so there will be a no holds barred approach. There is also the emotion surrounding Kris Millers last game and the fact that he has played for both clubs will add to the spice in the contest. Finals hopes of both sides are on the line here.

Hopefully the games will be promoted over the weekend to maximise the exposure of this important day. West Perth have done a great job with the Channel 9 advertisement and the other clubs and the WAFC need to get into the act as well.

Of course we cannot forget the prospects of the match on Saturday when the in form Swans clash with the Demons at Lathlain. Perth had the black and whites on toast when they played 6 weeks ago, but left them off the hook. They will be keen for this not to happen again.

So come on WAFL fans. Get along to one or two games this weekend and take your family and friends along too for a great day out at the footy B)

The weather doesn't look too bad people. Isolated showers and a max temperature forecast of 21° for the 3 big matches on Monday.

Nice work Mikeh, maybe the WAFC could employ you.
Am going out to Joondalup Monday. Expect to be abused and strong banter but also expecting a good game and maybe some fireworks from the fans.
Go WAFL

Leedy they showed the WP V EP adv during and after the State of Origin Rugby tonight.. Good idea... that was on 90Gem not sure if it was shown on their prime station.. Good to see though.
Would like to see something a bit more imaginative than what they showed with a few players obviously doing a photo shoot..But hey gotta start somewhere..

Maybe a shot of the WHOLE team running on on match day would be good. but I am no PR expert I only know what encourages me and excites me to a product.

Will be attending my first game this year. Going to Fremantle Oval on Monday. Very important game and I really need to get to a WAFL match live. So I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it gets some publicity and a big crowd rolls up. 10,000 would be terrific but if they get 6-7000 that would be deemed adequate by today's climate.

Alot of talk about the traditional Monday games, but the game on Saturday between Perth and Swan Districts could be a real beauty. Last time I think it was a kick & a few seconds between these clubs. Might be a fixture worth a look at.

Yep I agree. Will be closer than people think. Swans have an accuracy rate so far of 53% and Perth are running at 56. From what I can see, Swans are doing almost 13 disposals / scoring shot and Perth 14.1. Perth are obviously getting a good share of the ball. Really no excuse for people not getting out to a match this weekend.

Yes might be a weekend where you will have to pick SF,Perth and EP
MIGHT give you a chance in the tipping because all games are hard to pick but that is WAFL.. Dont you love it.
Would love to see Perth have a win as a couple they could of won but missed out e.g Perth V WP game.. Well I was there and Perth have a good team but just keep missing out BECAUSE THEY CANT FINISH THE JOB
