DW and 42 I actually yelled out to Clancee in the last qtr that he shouldnt have to wear that $hit crabs jumper being a Swans/Bassendean boy and he actually looked back and smiled!

yeah because he was thinking I should be wearing a purple jumper instead BH....long way from Bassendean to the Noranda Hawks.....didn't realise the Noranda Hawks were that popular......played in the same under age team as my nephew....and no way did my nephew live in Bassendean BH......

Yes i did know that freeze he also played at Guildford Grammer too mate but Clancee also played at Basso along with brother Jesse before playing at Swans!

Clancee played at all 3 same clubs as me in juniors, small world. Was also a Dandaragan Nipper for a season which I guess Clancee can't match but I'll give him Freo & Swan Districts as a fair trade-off there B) Guarantee he doesn't count his games at Peel as significant in future years.

NB: If I had of known as a 7yo kid that Noranda was in an East Perth zone I would have kicked Mum in the shins and told her to get me the bloody hell outta there. Clearly mum's not always right :cheer:

If you think that then you have to be joking.
These guys are professional footballers.Maybe they don't like being there....but miss kick on purpose..... gimme a break.Do you think he would jeopardise his career with shit like that!!!!!!
Seriously.

MMM you see I am a bit worried about these sort of statements. It only becomes tongue in cheeks when some one has a crack back.
I am sure there are quite a few here who would say that what you wrote is correct.
But I will take your word for it.

Put it this way, if the goal posts were one metre thick I still don't think Clancee could deliberately hit them. Great field kick, goal kicking needs a bit of work, not that he is alone there. Stand by what I said about his 39 poss game not being too damaging. Honestly I hardly noticed him until he hit the post so was very surprised to see he'd accumulated 39. Good for him though and hope he gets straight back in to the AFL side although Freo host my team this week so hopefully he will sound out the goal post again, just for me ;)

I must say reading this entire discussion, you fellas are just playing into the hands of the WAFC. One inane comment followed by another making us all look more like juvenile high school students, rather than level headed adults. This totally ridiculous trail of comments has cheapened the WAFL supporter as a whole.

Hams comments probably sums up where he is at as a person. His attack on a supporter base that had no say in this whole thing, probably shows up his lack of maturity . Ive been around long enough and been to what seems like thousands of games over the years, and I have yet to see a 100% normal supporter base across the board from any club. There are some fabulous people at East Perth that I have been associated with over many years, who have been robbed of their club. Not their choice. Now they have to cop this rubbish from a player who needs a reality check.

How do you think it feels to love a club your whole life, and suddenly find yourself hoping they don't win ?? Can any of you comprehend this for a second? Its like having your guts ripped out. And then have your club pretty much have its history tainted furthermore by what I see as cheap shot comment. It was designed for one thing only, and that was to give Hams himself a headline. Good on him he got his wish. Maybe he should now look at the type of persons who jump on his bandwagon with all of this and wonder what hysterical clowns he has in his corner. Maybe he wont be able to stomach that.

Don't get me wrong, I get it.

I get the hatred, I get the disgust, I get the betrayal. I get the sentiments from the supporters of other clubs. I get it, I get it, I get it. I actually understand and accept it. Not like we have a choice, or can really make a case for it.

But I feel we need mature heads, with mature arguments to articulate their perspectives with clarity. This type of chatter started by a fellow player and a senior one at that, will do one thing only and that is bring out the absolute worst in everything we stand for. Don't you think if an outsider started reading these comments being posted here, they arent going to take this whole thing seriously without laughing at us. We represent the WAFL. We may not take home a wage, or hold a position on a board. But we are representatives and with all due respect, I do not like what we are dishing up. And despite all you people lining up to backslap Hams, maybe do that if you wish, but move on from it and lets get our points across in an earnest and professional way. To try and get our competition back to what we all want.

I hope at the very least a portion of you get what point Im trying to make. The powers at the top will take more note of a respected head like a Dennis Commetti or a Barry Cable, than they will nasty, abusive and foul language bunch on a website. They will turn on all of us just out of spite. They know our feelings make no mistake, now we just have to get focussed if we want to move forward an inch. That's all.

One of our own had 39 possessions against us on the weekend. None of us were happy about it Jardine. But hey what can we do! A bit like you we are helpless to do anything about it albeit voice our opinions on a forum amongst others who love the competition and/or boycott games which involves the 2 aligned clubs if we see fit as our own small protests. My best guess is Hams comments re EP supporters is a direct reference to those same few who now aligned with the Eagles sprout about how elite their club is etc. Their club leader surely does not set a good example and some sheep have followed suit, including some players. As for people like yourself & Grump for instance, who clearly love the game and what it once stood for, Ham's references should not be taken personally as to you guys they don't apply. Its a bit like saying every swans supporter is an Emu Export swilling Midland bogan. I live on the beach mate so to some it doesn't apply.

As for the alignment, if you expect opposition supporters to take it easy on East Perth, it's not gonna happen. Not until some humility returns to that club which will not happen whilst they are cursed with Eagles management. The Eagles have not been a humble club from the birth of their existence. Elitism is rife and they are a sad reflection of what a lot of this state stands for and has become. I have many visitors from overseas pass my digs every year with the language school we run, and I can tell you, the one comment I always have thrown my way by visitors is how elitist of a society we are. I hate to think that is what visitors to our state think of us but it's what I keep hearing.

I guess if you expect the opposition supporters to forgive what the Eagles have done to this comp, then one would hope you could forgive your own mob for succumbing to the powers that be. It burns all of us in our own way and unfortunately you know that better than most in this case.

I do admire your passion jardine and I understand it's tough for a true blue (and black) royals supporter...but imo the more players, officials, commentators and supporters who come out and tear into this alignment bullsh*t on any forum the better I say. In reading Hams' comments I think he's genuine in his feelings and not just attention seeking...I'd like to see more players expressing their true opinions on this matter in particular those guys at EP who have moved on to other clubs, leagues because of a perceived lack of opportunity. I recall the business case jointly prepared by WCE and Freo a couple of years ago estimating attendances would increase up to 5000 a game if and when the two AFL clubs had their own stand alone teams...well that hasn't happened...so for mine, lets all come out in what ever fora we choose and let the WAFC know out true feelings..the more the better

I will just reiterate, I have no problem with EP getting any critique. That I have never resisted, I think I have been as critical as anyone else here. And players too can have their say - I have no issue at all & in fact encourage it.

Its just the "manner" in which we take the subject. It comes across as cheap & tacky. And this avenue only gives the authorities the ammunition the commission want. I have sat in on many meetings over the years, and those who vent themselves in an off their head way, end up further behind than they were initially. We are heading down the same path.

Be constructive.

If Hams actually articulated his point professionally, perhaps it would encourage more to follow suit. And the bean counters would better connect with a sound voice. The "Up Yours Shove It Up Your Ass" thing will kill us. I am telling you. We (and by that I include players of Hams ilk) need to actually be better than this.

The best thing that could happen is if Fremantle and West Coast perform badly at AFL level.

Maybe then, they will realise that the old way gave AFL players in the WAFL responsibility and a sense of urgency to perform.

Moreover, as Dennis Cometti mentioned in one of his columns, West Coast would have to be close to the most successful club in the AFL since the VFL expanded.

The thing that these pro AFL folk never mention is - that - the weaker clubs like Melbourne, Footscray and so on, all have aligned VFL sides and it hasn't helped them any.
