Exert from today Scappy Times.

"Trailing by three points at the last change, and facing the task of kicking against a stiff breeze in the driving rain, the fitness of many of their West Coast listed players came to the fore.

The likes of Will Schofield, Ash Smith and Dom Sheed had big final terms in the Royals 16.13 (109) to 14.7 (91) victory"

Lots of griping about it but it seems that it is coming from the supporters not the clubs or players.

I see where you are coming from there Anchor but don't forget you are talking about full time footballers up against WAFL guys who have to have another job and therefore don't have as much time to work on their fitness as the AFL players. When AFL players were allocated to all teams this wasn't an issue but my concern is that this factor will make the games between the aligned and non aligned clubs fairly predictable

Anchorman we have the very elite in the country working fulltime on every aspect of there game verses part time footballers. If the WAFL method worked then AFL clubs would revert to training for 2 hours three times a week.

Cometti has a piece on alignment in his online story in The West today.
Letter signed by Brian Peake and Stephen Michael amongst others. They make some strong points and are legends of the game

ERT's reserves are undefeated, this is a side that made the GF and have received 12 plus players whose fitness is at the elite level, and get's the highest level of medical assistance during the game and during the week. Like the Ukraine & Russia playing for the Crimea
