dogman , i like fairytales as well, but sometime ago - I came to realisation that they just don't come true, you seriously need to do the same.

If you honestly think things are going to drift along just nicely for the next few decades and we are going to be stuck in a 80s time warp you are deluded, you only have to look at how quick and dramatic the host club change came to see things will change very quickly when they need too, I can be almost certain that WAFL clubs will have merged in 20 years time , the clubs will not be around as they currently stand, there will be virtually no supporter base left in two decades as the last of the WAFL generation peters out and the AFL domination sucks any oxygen left up.

your also wrong on some of souths current financial facts, we dont have 300,000.00 in the bank, we have 197,000.00. and we have 220,000.00 in debts - so we are in the red by 20K , $500,000 in cash has vapourised in a decade. And yes we own the land the club , is on which is basically the asset you have when not having an asset, its only worth something to us if we sell it...and then what ? - where do we go? and to be honest I reckon its worth bugger all anyway, once the dockers leave freo oval i really wonder about its long term viability for one WAFL club.

At least we are not in SDFC state , $1.75 Mill is nightmarish, I honestly cannot see them getting out of it, interest alone must be around $100,000.00 a year.

What if the WAFc stood down and AFL took over completely. Maybe 9 clubs could resume nornla transmission. WCE anf FFC would still be strong just look at the past two years performance from them. WAFC have cocked it!

If someone was to ask me what the WAFC was, what they actually did, what or who actually owns or controls it I would be battling to answer them.

Spot on Dazzler,i'm actually losing interest now and not so much because of the "alignments" but moreso because of our disappointing record over the past 35 or so years and 2014 doesnt look any better than the past 3 decades.

Its becoming easier not to attend games and i have been like that for a while now but i will say this season is the first time in many when i couldnt give a toss when the season starts,i'm not excited at all.
I know plenty of die-hards who were week in week out attendees no matter what the scores, they just dont turn up anymore!

I reckon i'll need a zimmer-frame next time we play off in a GF,i'll need a day pass from the old peoples home or a day release from the mental asylum.

30plus Perth is going into its 37th year since the last premiership and 97 was the last time it's been in the finals what a deplorable record would have to be one of the worst performing clubs going around.

Like you I'm over it and over the comp as well this alignment will only drive supporters away can't see how clubs will survive .

Agree

Without doubt the answer is B. If Perth merged with swans then I'd have more interest in watching complete dogshit TV like my kitchens rule or fattest loser or crap like that. I'd give it away for sure

I don't think I'm in a fairy tale or living in the past. I do admit I was incorrect with our bank finances, we only have $197,000 like you said but our total current assets are $502,973. Property, plant and equipment are 2.4M and current liabilities $230,318.

I reckon from just re-reading the report that we and probably all clubs are banking on the alignment money to get them out of the shitter for the next few years.

The only thing Im clinging too, is the fact WP have a handy record in knocking off host clubs, that will be tested "big time" this year !

I'd be gone and so would any research or scanning I've done over the last 5 years. It would be deleted from the hard drive and never recovered.

Food for thought ...

Definitely A. As long a we retained a strong presence in the name, administration and recognition. If it got like the Brisbane/Fitzroy situation where kids are saying who was Fitzroy, I'd be off like a jew's foreskin
