Big deal. South Fremantle did this 30 years ago and now the AFL are looking at the same thing. The media will arc up like a Christmas tree over this and the AFL wins again.

Same thing happened with the 50 metre arc. The WAFL had 25 and 50 metre arcs years before the VFL/AFL but no the Afl wins again with a "new innovation"

By the way, I think its a good idea but it just gets me going when it seems the AFL has come up with it first!!!!

Got me stuffed why they have been so against it in the past. Bloody great idea. Maybe Andy and his side kick were too bloody minded to try something that wasn't their idea.

I loved it when South had the names, no idea why it didn't catch on.

It is an intriguing idea having names on the back of the jumpers. Personally, I would find it difficult to read the player's name from the other end of the ground compared with the number on their back.

True supporters know their players by name, how the run, how they wear their jumper and socks and movements really.

The names on the back are good for the tv audience and the kids these days who like to have their favourite players name on their own back like every other sport.

personally I don't like it. but I don't think its a big deal. south freo did it a long time ago so its nothing new
I just don't think its needed. its more for image than anything
At the game it wont benefit anyone unless you have out of the ordinary vision.
But it will happen eventually you can guarantee it. its another change for the sake of it. That's the way it goes with everything these days. doesn't bother me so much really. kids or ygens will love it
