Was just wondering whether Daniel Kerr had signed with anyone. Heard a rumour he had signed with West a Perth earlier this week but I'm a little sceptical

I had a chat at last nights AGM, he hasn't signed with WP.

Gents as I posted on the Perth thread a couple of months ago I would think it is unlikely that Kerr would play for any WAFL Club.

The official reason given by WC for his retirement was because of injury and his final years payment is outside WCE salary cap, if he does play, it is counted in the salary cap.

I am assuming he is large back-ended contract, so I dare say WCE told him not to go and play anywhere next year.

I am still hearing the strong rumours that Kerr has signed to play footy at the Falcons and is in a training program.Will then join the Club for the new year phase of preseason.

It must be asked - how are WP squuezing all these players in legally? Krakour from the grasp of Swans who was asking huge money, Spencer from Claremont training with big job offers for family and more dollars, and now potentially Kerr, they just wont the flag and lots of players who would be asking for increases and not a large amount of outs.

I obviously know the anser to the question above when it came to my beloved Swan Districts and we see where that has left them financially now. The cost of flags is hard to balance with the future of the club

I would of thought the answer is very easy to that Mac, 2 clubs in the League have 20 odd AFL players at their disposal. So those two clubs cap and points system seem to be not relevant. Why should any other clubs system be relevant?

totally agree but that is not the question. There are still caps in place. WP claiming to get Spencer for $0 is completely unlikely if impossible.

Pretty much it ..... the only way would be for agreement between WP , WCE & AFL bean counters that WP pay what is lodged as ex-No 4's TPP by the WCE , and also then have to pay Kerree a contract (if there is one) .... messy

That's all rubbish astro, he is not even on their radar, they haven't even spoken to him so your info is very misleading.
