at least the wafl has the WA day Monday holiday game back. the AFL have the eagles down for a sunday night game instead. perhaps a compromise there. its a very important day for the wafl so its good we have it back. hopefully 3 games are pencilled in all at 2pm, they way it should be. 2 x derbies & another game.

Fantastic news for the WAFL! Lets hope the fixtures are better than last year when frankly a trained monkey could have done better.

Usually around the week before Christmas in previous years.

What's the bet there will only be the one WAFL game on that Monday and it'll be East Perth vs Peel..

I don't want to delude Jardine but it has to be said. The reason why the devil incarnate (Eagles) are playing on Sunday night rather than on the Monday has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do witht the WAFL. It is purely and simply because the scheduling of other AFL games in the week before and the week after did not allow the game to be scheduled on the Monday.

Obviously the WAFL will benefit; but don't give the AFL or the Eagles and credit for the decision.

Point taken Swan42. either way this day should never have been hijacked. I still think overall we should also use up good Friday before the AFL take that too. it will happen next year North Melb are really pushing for it. we really should have 2 games, one Friday afternoon and one Friday evening. and bring back the Easter Monday game. I think the wafl dropped that last year, for reasons unknown. its always been a wafl fixture on that Monday. they really have no idea do they?

In fact Swan it was probably more to do with an Eagles request so that their reserves play the next day.

The one thing you can be assured of it had nothing to do with what was best for the WAFL. I suspect that it will only be a matter of a season or two that they will play games as a pre-cursor to the AFL games.
