They wouldn't be playing against their original team in the wafl. The traditional eight would be the only teams in the wafl.

They would be playing against their original teams only in the bhp cup or chevron cup or vb cup or whatever cup and they would not be playing for an opposition traditional eight but for an affiliate of wc or freo.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

So why would the 'traditional WAFL' clubs bother playing the other two devil incarnate teams? Where would the devils incarnate get the players to fill the team? Don't forget the last game of the AFL 2013 season and the number of Dockers players unavailable.

so what traditional teams would they be, Unions, Perth, Fremantle, Perth Midland Junction or would it be the any team in the league as @ 1900. I hate to remind you that when you use words like traditional clubs then you leave out Swans.

I went back and had a read of some the words associated with the inception of the EPL and the loss of 'traditional' clubs like Wimbledon et al , seems the English had the same moans (just louder and longer) as many of us and look at the EPL and the Championship now!

At least we will still largely predominate Australian (all of US) playing group not like them were if you are English you aren't generally good enough!

the only devil incarnate are any of the traditional eight joining with wc or freo. Peel becoming the Mandurah Dockers is no big deal as they are not a traditional eight team. The new Joondalup Eagles or North Beach Eagles or whatever would not be the devil incarnate either because they would not be a traditional eight club.

This idea only sees the need for 29 new players. Try reading previous posts, as the Mandurah Dockers senior squad would be cut from its current 55 to 42.

The new clubs senior squad would only need 42 as well. So (try and keep up) only 29 players required for this newclub bbecause there will be 13 axed from the Mandurah Dockers. 13 + 29 = 42.

Grump every WAFL supporter knows who I am talking about when I refer to the traditional eight. I am of course talking about the current traditional eight. I include Swans in this of course. Your red herring statements muddy the water for know useful reason.

TFAF please explain your mathematics using the actions of Freo in their last qualifying game as the background where they rested something in the order of 10-12 players. Exactly how many Freo players would have been available to play for Mandurah and where would the other players have come from.

Also, I ask the question again why would the 'traditional eight' teams bother to play against the AFL aligned teams?

They were resting these players mainly from the travel burden. I imagine they would play 6 or 7 of those 10 or 12 in a nice easy game for the Mandurah Dockers. A game they would not care if they won or lost.

For money, for exposure and to keep up the number of games they play per season.

In case you missed it in your quote as the bold writing didn't work. They were resting these players mainly from the travel burden. I imagine they would play 6 or 7 of those 10 or 12 in a nice easy game for the Mandurah Dockers. A game they would not care if they won or lost.

Also as jimmy said

The reason? West Coast players were there to sign autographs and do promotional work plus entry was a "gold coin" donotion.
