I don't like to say this. I wanted WA to beat the Vics as much as any other WAFL supporter but I believe in my heart that the umps very much assisted WA in their victory.

I enjoyed winning but in such an even;y contested game with 373 possessions to 381 possessions, I felt slightly uncomfortable with the 29 to 14 free kick tally in WA's favour.

I know I'm gonna cop it for this post because apparently umpires never affect the results of football games. I can't help but think that they do.

LH I watched the game and didnt actually notice how the Free kicks went.
Now to be honest I would have to watch the game again and pay attention to the free kicks. This way you could make a decision as to whether the kicks were fair etc. I didnt hear the VFL coach complaining but maybe he was just being Diplomatic.
Didnt they have a VFL umpire in this game? If so that cuts it down to 2 WAFL umps. I seem to remember the game at Medibank where the VFL umpire actually made, or did not make a decision that lost us that game. I was with you that day at the Can Bar on the Outer.. I am pretty sure in involved Smith.

Anyway to cut a long story short maybe the Free kick count WA V VIC was fair but without seeing it again an doing an analysis cant say. Lets remember the Vics were in unfamiliar territory and there was a hiccup with their transport etc so they could of had a off day.

Have you watched it again LH or has anyone watched it a 2nd time? Input

One has to wonder what's happened? Have some of the rules changed, without anyone's knowledge? Watching the first half of the Perth game being played at Mandurah on abc tv was perplexing to say the least. On several occasions, A Perth player was wrapped up in a tackle with no means to dispose of the ball whatsoever and gets pinged for holding the ball? I thought a bounce was the result in situations of that order? If the ball carrier is in control of the ball with opportunity to dispose of but doesn't, that is holding onto the ball. The opposing team should receive a free kick under that situation. I clearly saw the ball carrier being wrapped up with no opportunity to pass the ball off and being held to him which should have been a bounce-down. Should it not be so? Obviously the umpire has a different interpretation than I.

It would be interesting to get a break up of the umps stat e.g out of the 28 kicks given out how many were given by each umpire. Now that would tell a story. I think you will find Parry would be on the lower end of the scale. But then of course that doesnt give a count of he ONES THEY MISSED, but as I said they were as bad on both sides.. Saw WP get a couple of easy ones late in the game? Saw Subi not get some blatent kicks in their forward line as well.. A couple I can remember disinctly as I said to the guy next to me Shit we were lucky there..
Maybe Maybe Subi could of got this game.

Maybe your mate just doesnt like Parry and it Sticks :)
I had the Same problem with Farmer when he umpired a EP V WP game where he didnt pay a kick to one of our guys right in front just before the Siren.
Now I never forgot that one..And it stuck

I don't think anybody likes Parry and going by the free kick ladder on another thread Swans seem to get a raw deal more than most eg yesterday 23 to 15 in favour of Sth yet we dominated the contest and had 110 more possies, it doesn't add up,it didn't rile me up as much because we pumped them anyway but we seem to be on the lower end of the kick count almost every week,im sure most WAFL fans would say the same tho

Dont get me started on this subject mate I will be here all night!!

As I mentioned on another thread the complete lack of care for the players on Saturday in the Souths Swans game was appalling. Their complete disregard for the welfare of the players is a disgrace. Forget about how badly or biases they are; when they allowed play to continue when it was patently clear that there may have been a very serious injured player on two occasions should ensure that all three are dropped this week.

It was so bad that in the injured Souths' players case, a conversation occurred between two people as to why the umpire didn't stop play when it was observed that the player had not moved. Also, in this case we had player(s) virtually jumping over the injured player.
