With both local AFL teams performing so badly, it may see some more interest in the WAFL. Not sure of the numbers but the attendances for WAFL games between the 8 traditional clubs seems to be better than in recent seasons. If the season can see most clubs staying in the race as long as possible we might even see the media take off their AFL coloured glasses and realise their is a great comp right on their doorstep.

Good points SS, there has been a noticeable shift in demographic at the footy with many Families now attending.

Apart from the AFL being totally crap, many families are finding it very tough at the moment and AFL is out of their reach but a day at the WAFL is such good value, with most grounds having a free kids zone, food and drink not rediculously over priced, the ability to have kick on the ground and listen at the huddles at 1/4 and 3/4 time

The Greens pulled their support for this AFL extortion in Tasmania about an hour ago - it is emerging also that most Tasmanians want their two older stadiums redeveloped so that north & south folks can attend games and the new team play out of two stadiums

A couple of good results for the Competition today with Subi beating Claremont and Souths thrashing Peelmantle. Now we just need a Perth victory over East Perth and Swans to beat West Perth tomorrow and we will have a very tightly. packed ladder!
