Are there some others whom are lucky to still be coaching? Subi and South come to mind in terms of ability. South should have beaten Peel twice in the last month alone. In regards coaches, it was not uncommon for up to half a dozen coaches to go in a season in the late 1970s.

AR believe it or not when I started following WAFL footy seriously around 1980 I think all 8 WAFL coaches were or ended up being Premiership coaches-

John Todd (EF, SD, SF)
Mal Brown (EP, SF)
Graham Moss (CL)
Graham Campbell (WP)
Ken Armstrong (P)
Brad Smith (EF)
Barry Cable (EP)
Alan Joyce (Hawthorn VFL)

I'm going to find it pretty hard to put anything on Todd Curley considering the massive losses of experience and talent we had in between seasons - he actually did a wonderful job in bringing our younger fellows in pretty seamlessly as well as keeping us in contention all year
he copped a few untimely injuries along the way this year which I think ultimately ended us bit early and we also copped pretty stacked AFL sides three times as well
to my conclusion it's a well deserved pass mark

Southerner: I know what you mean mate, the players made the errors, not the coach; in addition, one of Peel's key forwards played very well, and proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day.

If you lose against the real Peel, then you can castigate the coach.  But if you lose against Fremantle (aka Peel), then you can’t blame the coach.
