The top 5 now seems done and dusted with a 2 game break between 5th and 6th, thought it wouldn't be decided until closer to the finals given the first half of the season was so competitive apart from EF & WP who appear a class above the rest, but good to see at least 2 new finals contenders in EF and SD plus the usual suspects in SF, CL and Joondy .......        and then there's poor old Subi

Wouldnt write off Peel and East Perth just yet SS. Swans are playing South next week so the loser may be only 1 game in front with 6 to go.

Cannot rule out the Royals yet. They seem to have found another gear from somewhere. They were expected to lose yesterday, and won comfortably enough at the final siren. What a massive game between South's and Swans next week which is very much the match of the day. The loser of said match will only be 1 game ahead of 6th from what I hear. Claremont were favourites yesterday and yet South's won easily. Should have more clarity in the top part of the league ladder in a fortnights time.

Getting close to the point where I can dare to dream, but there’s a way to go yet.

We may be at least 2 weeks away from anything settled as far as the top 5 goes - West Perth might be assured a little more but clubs have still got 7 games each to go yet and lots can happen in that stretch and probably will

The royals have a slim chance but need everything to go right.I would think we  would need to win six of the last seven games for 11 wins to make the five.we need to beat swans, souths and peel and hope they lose a few games.the next few weeks will especially be interesting one.with the royals hopefully beating perth and souths beating swannies and then the royals playing the swannies at bassendean. which won't be a easy game.

Will be a interesting last four weeks of the WAFL season to see who makes the top 5 and what positions they will be in.

West Perth are guaranteed finals and after their bye this week finish off their regular season against East Perth, Swans and Subiaco. The boys from Joondy should end up on top with these fixtures.

Souths play Peel this week and then play the 3 bottom teams to finish so discounting upsets they will finish 2nd or 3rd. They may still have a chance of finishing top if West Perth slip up in any games.

Claremont play Perth, Peel, East Fremantle and West Coast so they will should get a double chance in the finals

East Fremantle play Swans, Claremont and East Perth. If they can beat Swans they will almost certainly make finals and could still challenge for a top 3 position. If they lose to Swans they will be dragged into a battle with them and Peel for two spots

Swans play West Coast, East Fremantle, West Perth and Peel. If they lose to East Fremantle it will probably come down to the last game V Peel for 5th spot.

Peel play South Freo, Claremont, West Coast and Swans so if they can nab a victory over either the Doggies or the Tigers, this will probably put them in pole position when it comes to round 20.

Of course any upset victories by the teams out of contention will throw a spanner in the works of these calculations.

Overall should be fascinating to watch it unfold, fingers crossed the final five will be AFL player free!
