Pat Travers looks like he has left PT. Rumour was he was going to be "dropped" for a Docker and didnt like it. He had been a good player for EP and i thought an even better player last year with Peel.

Interesting and he wont go back to EP as the situation will be the same!

So with Peel up to 2005 and got their FB award
Then to EP until 2011 and then back to Peel...2012 Age around 28?
Why did he leave EP and go back to Peel?

So where to from here. He is a handy player to have with a lot of experience. Will be interesting to see where he goes unless retires.

IF it true the the exodus could of begun.. Contracts depending on when.

Did find this which lays out the rules for transfers

1.4.6 Eligibility for Transfer between WAFL Clubs
The WAFL places restrictions on the ability for players to move between WAFL clubs for a number of reasons. Players that are considered eligible for transfer may transfer to another WAFL Club in agreement between the current WAFL Club and the destination WAFL Club. A transfer fee may also be applied as defined in section 1.5 Transfer Fees.
Players that do not satisfy the defined criteria are deemed as not eligible for transfer and may seek transfer by negotiation between WAFL Clubs or appeal to the WAFL Arbitrator as defined in section 6.7.2 Appeals Regarding Player Transfers.
A player is eligible to transfer between WAFL Clubs should they satisfy the following criteria.

a) Is an AFL senior or rookie delisted player in the current or immediate past season as outlined in section 1.2.2 (a) Listed Players, and has not signed a player registration form for another WAFL Club.
b) Is 19 years or older and is not included on the current WAFL Club 40 list.
c) Is 24 years or older and has been included on their current WAFL Club Supplementary list as outlined in section 2.2 Supplementary List for a period of more than 12 months.
d) Is 19 years or older, is regarded as a listed player, is not contracted and satisfies one of the following
i. Is 24 years or older and has completed 5 years of League service to the WAFL Club
ii. Is 24 years or older and has played over 110 League matches for the WAFL Club
iii. Has completed 5 years of League service and has played 110 League matches for the WAFL Club
iv. Has not played in five (5) matches (any grade) of the last 20 consecutive matches. Games missed while suspended or included on the long term injury list do not count.
v. Has not played in the League team during the last two (2) WAFL seasons. Games missed while suspended or included on the long term injury list do not count.
vi. Has not played 40 games in any grade in five (5) seasons. Games missed while suspended

I suspect a few from the ....... in the coming days, older players who aren't getting the same opportunity ..... will wait and see what develops.

What if he doesnt want to leave because he has a family & may live in Mandurah but has to go elsewhere because some drafted 18 year old has to play league for Peel..

if players remain in the comp and there are no clearance fees it makes the comp stronger.
however there is still no clarification on the rules for Peel or East Perth players transferring to the other 7 clubs..

Yeah well some folk know but choose to ........

As far as players moving around the strength they bring may be that instead of having a split of 15% a-,60% b graders and the rest c graders if they payer recruited adds the upper levels the team gets stronger and the competition gets stronger.

It also means that perhaps the ammo's etc get stronger down trough their grades using the same process.

I think that our process of allowing players to transfer mid season upto 30 june is great for all concerned, but it has be a strengthening process not a dummy spit like a couple of players who went from EP to Peel a few years back!

I would be annoyed if SF didn't at least put the feelers out there to see what's around...lets face it we suk rotten eggs ATM...so if there are any players lookin around we should at least do some due diligence...

What the hell are you talking about? Travers is pushing 30 & plays WAFL..AFL kids elect to go into the draft in the hope of getting picked up, Travers is not in this situation..
