Firstly, great to have the football back, congrats to all the first round winners, fantastic to be able to wander across all the match streams and get a look at all clubs first up.

Obviously early days, but good to see EP make a mockery of pre season form. SD fans whilst disappointed not to win, will hope like the EF fans get their season up n running next weekend....sadly one will be 0/2. Cl and WP both will win more then they lose this year. Peel will benefit from a fit and COVID free Freo. SF did what they had to do, but Subi with 11 out of their GF side, will obviously only get better as players come back. The Perth & WCER game was an interesting one, despite WCER being in front you kind of felt Perth were always  capable  of playing the better footy and eventually win. Understandable I guess considering majority of the AFL non listed WCER players would struggle to play league else where within the WAFL. Great to see Chopper Mayne back in the WAFL too.

I can't wait for this season to unfold,as it is not as cut and dried as most people think.

It would be a long time since the WAFL has had such a gripping Round 1.
Three matches decided by less than a goal, another by 8 points and the other game was well and truly "alive" halfway through the last quarter.

Love your optimism but don't forget that the Subiaco reserves nearly beat South Fremantle yesterday. Let that sink in.

Excellent round 1. I think Subi have found some good players in the reserves and should have souths covered next time. But they did look short and dependent on delahunty. Hopefully the eveness of round 1 continues. Reasonable crowds too.

Yep a good round.  A few more games like those and the turnstiles will start turning a bit faster.  
Looking at next week’s round, with probably all of them looking to be absolute rippers.  Another like round 1 could be a great fillip for the WAFL.  Early days, but gotta start somewhere.

The rational thinking would be, well done to the winners and the teams that lost did not disgrace themselves despite what some of their supporters may think.

I watched EP obviously and thought swans have an upside and if we stick to a much more positive game plan we may have a finals berth in the offing but one game a winter does not make.

Watched a bit of Subi v Soofs on 7 and thought SF looked ok but Subi need their contingent back.

I will wait til' round 4 or 5 to predict where EP will be as I still think we can improve the side with some judicious promotions and some needed demotions.
