Draft day for the VFL is once again here and young men from all our clubs will either be ecstatic or looking for a real job!

There are many players who are touted as certainties  and ones that are smokies and then there are the ones we will argue abt why he did not get drafted, Black, Nelson, Clark (although he has a real good chance this time).

So who from you club are the certainties and who are the smokies, we can deal the ones who miss out later.

From EP Amiss is the real dead cert, the sad thing is that it looks like he will be at the Dockers.

Smokies, are Dittmar and Tunstill with Karbour & Armstrong being maybes.

hopefully it's a year where none of them get serious injuries or too many get shunted to Covid zones

So Erasmus and Amiss go to dockers, not sure that it is a good thing for Jye, he would have been better off elsewhere.

Van Rooyen is in a great place, well done for him.

Next round is interesting, if I was WCE I trade to get Johnson, I reckon he is the pick of the draft.

I think Amiss and Erasmus are in a pretty good place given Freo are on the rise, building a good base of quality young players where as WC are on the decline, probably one more season in the sun but after that they will need to seriously rebuild. Van Rooyen is a quality player but going to the best team in the comp who are right at the start of a dominant run, it will be hard to break in, but a great environment to start your AFL career.

I was hoping van Rooyen might still be available but Melbourne snaffled him up just before Fremantle's next pick. I've seen van Rooyen live twice and he's a special talent. I just had a look at Matt Johnson's highlight reel and I think Fremantle better not get too cute in trading their next pick and pass up on this kid. If they do it could come back to bite them in the arse. He's a big unit, automatic replacement for David Mundy and shows a lot of Mundy's poise and class. Take him Fremantle. I'm not keen on Jesse Motlop, we've got too many of that kind already. If he's still around in later rounds then fair enough. I'm not fan of Liam Henry either, too much fig jam.

The other one I like from WA is Rhett Bazzo. I think he's going to be a ripper whoever get's him.

Agree DD, I reckon Van Rooyen will turn out to be a better player than Amiss, but time will tell.

Amiss sounds like he's a very grounded kid TOO. His parents are raising 5 foster kids and it sounds like Jye is an inspiration to them. I better not go on or I'll start getting emotional. I've got a soft spot for Rhett Bazzo too having lost his Dad Steve not long ago.

Great stuff, Fremantle went with Mathew Johnson from Subiaco.

Jesse Motlop just got picked up by Carlton with pick 27.

WC got a couple of picks coming up soon. Hopefully they pick up Bazzo if he's still available.
