As I mentioned in a post in another topic I find it strange some of the games that are chosen to be televised.  Whilst obviously it is not possible to always choose a game that will be competitive there are some match-ups that generally provide a good game.  In Swans case I would choose games against Perth and West Perth.

I wonder what other match-ups others think would generally provide a good opportunity to showcase WAFL footy.  The criteria for the selections would not include matches where your club would win most of the time.

Almost any game that doesn't involve WCE and not being played at Leederville (unless Subi can afford to fix the lights)

I would imagine televised games are scheduled weeks/months in advance meaning a lot can happen in the intervening period. Who could have forecast that Perth would be so badly hit by injuries in recent times culminating in last nights game becoming a fiasco? Lathlain is the obvious choice for night telecasts due to superior lighting so it was always going to be Perth against someone...just unlucky it was a rampant Subi.

I was not referring to night games.  I meant the normal Saturday afternoon timeslot.  I was not suggesting that it would be possible to get it right 100% of the time.   For example, choosing to televise a Swans Subiaco game, on balance, Subiaco will win and it won't be very close.  The result is predictable - an easy win to Subiaco.  Whereas a Swans Perth or Swans West Perth game would be better choices.

That would apply for the rest of the WAFL clubs as well.

Ch 7 were intent on a Thursday night broadcast  this weekend, so it was not going to be the two derbies moved I guess.

Also being a night game it had to have broadcast quality lights, and  I think maybe only Latho and Leedy have that. so limits it a bit.

The real question we need to ask is the suitability time and date of the broadcast fixture. I just dont think Thursday night is a winner

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time we met a couple of weeks ago the margin was less than a goal at 3/4 time and only 8 points at the final siren.  Hardly an easy win.

From the WAFL footy facts site:

Subiaco have won 12 games in a row against Swans from R5, 2016 to R7, 2021.
So it was an 8 point margin for the last game.  The margins for the previous 11 were: working back from 2020 they were 39, 62, 18, 52, 82, 96, 29, 64, 74, 34 and 40 points.
