I'm confident some of the learned folk out there in WAFLland will be able to assist with my query.
In relation to the 2002 season, I'm chasing (a) the winner of the Governor's Challenge preseason competition and (b) the round-by-round Sandover Medal votes (specifically, for East Perth).
I had a quick look on Ric's excellent WAFL Footy Facts website but couldn't see any information re the above, while the WAFC couldn't help me with the 2002 Sandover votes.
Many thanks if anybody can help.

Looking at the results I have and referring to the round 1, 2002 footy budget, It would appear Claremont ‘won’ the Governer’s Challenge in 2002. They were the only unbeaten team, defeating Perth by 66, EF by 5, WP by 3 and Swans by 1 point.

Thanks, Ric, you're an absolute champ.
Silly bugger that I am, I should've checked my 2002 Budgets.
Claremont certainly cut things fine in three of those games.
Perhaps the Tigers used up their luck then, as they lost four of five one-goal games during the 2002 home-and-away season.

Like Claremont Swans did much better in pre-season and won one more games in pre-season than than did in the season proper too. Defeating EP by 59, Perth by 51, drawing with WP and losing to C by 1 point. 2002 season record 1-17

Yes, preseason form can be considered as the equivalent of dancing with your sister.
