Rule changes are the most diabolical aspect of the game. Thankfully the WAFL is standing strong and rejecting becoming the AFL's guinea pig. What a disgrace that the AFL would attempt to thrust this upon the state leagues. Rule changes in recent times are a disaster (holding the ball, deliberate out of bounds, etc etc), and the AFL's constant tinkering with the game is dangerous and disconcerting. The AFL is control mad. Now they want the game to be exactly as they say it should be. As a fan, and I'm only a fan of the WAFL, I've never giving a cuss about the quality of the game (I've had the same broad understanding of the spirit of the game and how it should be umpired for the last 30 years and nothing's changed). The problem: we have guys who get paid to make rule changes and we have a media obsessed with changing the rules.

Yes and you’d think Optus would be wanting the GF to be held at Optus Stadium.
COVID you’d think by late September won’t be an issue for sports to be held at the Stadium.
It is comical.
