our Cardinals boys will hate this but East Perth will be ones going North I'd say if all this goes down and West Perth folds
I do NOT want West Perth gone however we share great tradition with the Cardies it would rip me up boys

peel falcons has a nice ring to it.need to merge two struggling clubs.i don't know how both afl clubs will be able to afford to have stand alone teams.both will need to ditch unnecessary staff.better to go back to distributing players between the eight wafl clubs.i wouldn't mind going back to a 8 team wafl comp so long as we have enough cash to fund it.

Not sure Peel will go.
WAFC won't admit their mistake.
WP to Freo maintains the status quo with 10 clubs.
It would be sad to see WP foldbut they are the vulnerable club.
Sadly brought it upon themselves.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

If you were setting up a WAFL nowadays rather than in 1885 it should look something similar to this-

1. North West Perth based team- (City of Joondalup/Wanneroo region, share part of City of Stirling with Central team) based at Arena Joondalup

2. North East Perth based team- (Swan Valley, Perth Hills, City of Swan, Kalamunda, Belmont, Mundaring,East of Tonkin Hwy to Welshpool Rd) based at Bassendean Oval

3. South East Perth based team- (Cities of Canning, Gosnells, Armadale + Byford, Canning Vale, Jandakot areas) based at Gosnells Oval or Cannington Showgrounds area

4. South West Perth based team- (Cities of Fremantle, Melville, Cockburn, West of Kwinana Fwy to Anketell Rd) based at Fremantle Oval

5. Western Suburbs Perth based team- (Claremont, Cottesloe, Nedlands, Subiaco, North Fremantle to Scarborough along coast) based at Claremont Oval

6. Central Perth based team- (Perth, South Perth, Vic Park, Stirling, Mt Lawley, Morley, Bayswater, Mirrabooka, Most of City of Stirling shared with NW based team) based at Leederville Oval or WACA

7. Peel based team- (Mandurah, Rockingham, Kwinana, Murray, S/J, Waroona) based at Rushton Park

8. South West based team- (Bunbury, Busselton, Collie, Harvey, Eaton, Manjimup, Margerat River, Bridgetown) based at Hands Oval

Country zones would then be determined from there using the current regions (Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid West, Wheatbelt, Goldields, Esperance, Great Southern) although both the Peel & SW are already covered there.

Perth in 2020 is obviously a lot different place to that in the late 1800s/early 1900s when the original WAFL 8 clubs came into existence.

What this means......

Peel gone and Subiaco will be asked to move north as they will be given more zones up that way.

This is Fake News at its best, the club has gone into hibernation like all clubs, the new CEO has agreed to start when the footy starts again probably next season and there was talk of a major sponsor announcement that has been put on hold for obvious reasons.
The only uncertainty is i suppose if the coaching staff who have been layed off, but I dare say all WAFL clubs will have that issue.

BH: good post: which means I would, effectively, have a choice between the Western suburbs lot and the north.
