Westar Rules FFS, made the comp a laughing stock in the eyes of the Vics and Croweaters
I'll never forget his smug look when the Filth became the Eagles host club for the first time
How he kept his position is a mystery to me and many others
Nothing more than a stooge for the AFL

Not entirely Dorro's decisions.. Lets not forget those fools at the WAFC. Dorro was a small drop in a big pond. He most probably didnt have any choice. He was the Development mgr at the end of his days. Would be interesting to get his point of view.
We are being a bit hard on him methings... Let him RIP.

Now as for the EP Eagles...

A/man how could you construe that the 'Peel' situation is anything but wrong? Firstly, it came about under very dubious circumstances where the Perth President voted against the directive of his board. The introduction of Peel resulted in a dilution of the playing strength; a reduction of revenues to all clubs; resulted in a unequal fixturing and byes.

With respect to Dorrington was directly responsible for the Brady Anderson Sandover Medal fiasco. Supported decisions which were counter to the wellbeing of the WAFL competition.

A challenge: according to The West's article what exactly was Dorrington's best achievement with respect to the WAFL competition?

The Westar Rules naming rationale was nothing short of absurd. Logic and Dorrington would appear to be mutually exclusive. He cites the dominance of Subiaco a few years ago as being the catalyst which forced other WAFL clubs to improve. I would have thought that inability to police the salary cap in any meaningful way resulted in the introduction of the points cap which remarkably, but according to Dorrington, had no impact on the decline of Subiaco's dominance. In the same way he suggested that by providing two WAFL clubs with the financial clout of the AFL clubs and their aligned players will somehow provide a mechanism for the other WAFL clubs to improve. Of course, the premise is that the host club alignment will hae a positive affect on the two WAFL and a negative impact on the other 7. In essence you shoot yourself in the head in order to provide an incentive to improve surgical techniques!!!!!!!!

There was always going to be another team come in at the stage they allowed Peel in.I was more than likely going to be a team from the Sw.
But I am still not sure that it was a wrong decision.A decision that was badly implemented I think.

A/man his responsibility was toward the WAFL cometition. There are very few positive achievements that he can take credit for. Re-read the article and let me know what were his three greatest achievements with respect to the WAFL competition?

Speaking of Peel: what have been the positives which have come out of having Peel in the competition? I have outlines some of the negatives already. After you have outlined the positives let me know whether on balnce it has a positive or negative impact on the WAFL competition.

The opprobrium surrounding Dorrington is in the context of the WAFL competition and whether we, WAFL supporters, think he has done a good job or not.

I think you only have to look at the good and very very good players that Peel have attracted to the AFL to see that they have has success.

With all due respect A/man you need to do a lot better than that. Sure there have been Peel players drafted to the AFL. Would they have been drafted if they had been playing for Souths, Swans etc? I suspect the overwhelming majority of players drafted from Peel would have been drafted from another WAFL club.

Any other benefits of having Peel in the WAFL?

How about the removal of Ellenbrook from the Swan Districts' junior zone? How many of their juniors are playing at East Perth at this point in time?

You ignored the Brady Anderson Sandover Medal fiasco.

Over to you A/man and good luck coming up with some positives.

Exactly Swan,

I cannot think of a single good thing Dorington did in his long tenure, but I can name some monumental stuff ups, which is a sad indictment.
