Looking forward to the Swan View Vs Brentwood game for Rd 6 after the Dogs brushed aside Roley.

Its a 5pm start under lights at Karoonda and doubles as the clubs family day so should be a ripper Saturday.

Looks like results went as expected. Wembly would be kicking themselves after letting that slip with poor kicking. Good to see the competition starting to take some shape.

TA's started strong, being up by a couple at the first change. I left after then so as the scoreline shows, River were just too good. Unfortunately our reserves couldnt get going, with a few key players missing, it was a tough day out on the paddock. Albeit, it has been a good start for us boys with both our sides being 4-1. A first in our short club history. Looking forward to Cockburn next week.

Weird game. The scoreline would suggest that Wembly kicked themselves out of the game; but it was basically the first quarter. The ball got stuck in their forward-line with a strong breeze. Watching the game; you'd have to suggest that Jandakot won the other 3 quarters and probably in the end should have won by a bit more.

Didn't get my tips in last week but ill take the 5 away teams.

Our boys travelled to Ossie Park severely depleted due to GTM,injury and FIFO and what an effort by all 3 teams! It was counted that we had 27 players from the previous week unavailable so the texts were being pumped out by the coaches from early in the week to make sure we had 3 teams.
The colts boys were missing 9 to GTM,3 to injury and managed to get a side to Warnbro to take the points.
When I rocked up to Ossie Park there were some faces I'd not seen in quite a while and a few boys doing a Jonny Farnham, one last time. Was quite a scrappy affair with a lot of the boys not being familiar with the game plan but our boys held a slender margin for most of the game and managed to get a very important 4 points. Hopefully some of the boys filling in got the bug and wil now continue to front up which will add good depth to our ranks and good competition.
On to the league and the boys knew it was going to be a dog fight. We had 8 blokes doubling up,6 colts,2 ressies and it was a massive effort!! We kicked 9 points in the 1st qtr and 11 before we had our 1st goal so we weren't making it easy for ourselves. On top of the bad goal kicking we weren't playing smart football and at qtr time it was very tight
The second qtr was quite scrappy and at half time both sides had registered only 2 goals.
In the 3rd we managed to get a couple of early goals but you could see the confidence of the park grown as they managed to stay close and I'm sure they knew we had blokes playing their 2nd game. Luckily we got a goal right on 3/4 time to give us that little spring in our step which was much needed.
We were down to 1 on the bench in the last but our blokes lifted again and we held on. It was a bloody long qtr.

This week we hope to welcome back most of the boys who missed and look forward to the challenge of taking on another undefeated team.

Hey DB, noticed your ressies and league are playing afternoon and night this week, but your colts still have to play the usual 10.45am shift. Seems annoying for you that the guys will have a 4 hour break between games. Couldn't convince the WAAFL to shift the colts to 1.30 or so?

Hay There. Unfortunately our Juniors have a Y6's field day Saturday so we had to have our Colts at another venue (Santich Park). Reserves & League followed the field day.

We were happy as it gave time to packup and get back to Atwell. Most guys were at the Colts and most Colts were at the late games.

Great day for the club. Result aside; hopefully Roleystone enjoyed the night games too.

DB.
