Have other clubs been decimated by players going to GTM tomorrow or is it just us?

Ours has, we have essentially lost a whole side across our grades due to this concert.

Not great at all but glad to see other clubs are in the same boat though.

Not sure what’s wrong with blokes ( family or work commitments fair enough) but if you commit to playing football you need to organise your social life around it!

A life outside footy is fine. Most teams are affected by some of the boys going travelling. That is known preseason. When teams are depleted because a few of their team mates want to party on the occasional game day,that is rubbish. Can't imagine that attitude would exist in any of the top A & B teams.

We had to make 12 changes to the league side at Lynwood and nother 6 to the reserves because blokes chose to go to Groove in the Moo this weekend.

I hope it pisses down all weekend and its really wet and miserable down there. Back in my day blokes played footy no matter what

We at canning vale have certainty lost a few to it!
It's one of the negatives being a young club!

We pay to play, don't get paid to play!
Life goes on! Tho personally, I factor most things around footy! Haha

The top A & B clubs generally have more competition for positions, so if a guy chooses to have the game off he's going to be up against it to get back in the league or even ressies squad for at least a few weeks. Most smaller clubs, they know if they have a game off they'll be able to walk back in the squad next week, since there was no one taking their spot.

Anyway, it happens (just like when a couple of years ago they didn't have the bye over the June long weekend and a few teams suffered). Guess the good thing is all the other festivals are on Sundays!

kingsway colts had 18 missing yesterday and most of them would be in the starting 18. Hard to stop young blokes going away and fortunately they didn't forfeit as they have a fairly big squad but were soundly beaten. Hope this loss doesn't come back to haunt them come finals time should they make it
