With possibility of a dampish afternoon on Saturday, results could be influenced.

Carlisle travelling to Hammersley for an absolute must win with as big a margin as possible to gain percentage too. Can't see a Hammersley win, but I can't see them lying down either.

Melville and Bullcreek playing one of two possible cracker games this weekend. Melville must win to guarantee finals and Bullcreek must win for a double chance. Just have this feeling that Melville might get up.

Great result from Ocean Ridge last Saturday, but can't see them beating Bassendean.

Kenwick and Warnbro could also be interesting, but suspect Warnbro traveling a little better and should get up.

Thornlie and Gosnells my MOTR. A shocker from Thornlie last week across all grades and can't see a repeat. Gosnells coming good at the right time of year. A possible second place on the ladder for both teams. Could be one of the most important wins/losses this year for both teams. Gosnells - just!!

In the Reserves, must win games for Bullcreek, Melville and Thornlie as all fight for the final position in this year's finals. Top spot up for grabs between Bassendean, Ocean Ridge, Hammersley and Gosnells. Should be a great Round of reserves games.

Good writeup as always Birdman

Hopefully most teams can finish their games before the weather influences the results. I think we are in for another great round of footy, and I agree there will be a couple of cracking games this weekend.

Carlisle v Hammersley - I'm not sure which game will be more one sides, the win Carlisle gets in the league or the win Hammersley gets in the reserves. Either way there wont be a need for heart pills at this game. Carlisle easily.

Melville v Bullcreek - There is heaps to play for here for both teams. Melville will want to win here to try to lock up a finals birth, and Bullcreek will want to win to stay in second place and try to secure that all important home final. With both sides reserves teams in a fight for the fifth spot in the reserves comp there will be no silly games, and I expect both sides to go in as strong as possible. Melville play their small oval well, and I think they will get up by the smallest of margins. Melville by 2 points.

Kenwick and Warnbro - this is the last chance for both sides to get a win this year. While the results wont effect this yea, both sides will be playing with one eye on next year. Kenwick have the advantage of not travelling and I'm going to pick them Saturday to get their first win of the year.

Thornlie v Gosnells is the other blockbuster this weekend, and being third v fourth I agree its match of the round. Gosnells a good win last week v Melville and Thornlie getting belted by Ocean Ridge. Are Gosnells getting their playing group back and fit at the right time of the year? Was last weekend a speedbump for Thornlie or is it a sign of worse things to come for the lions? Will the umpires over officiate this game or let two old Sunday League rivalries play it out in such an important match for both teams? These and many more questions will be answered by 5.00pm Saturday. For me its Gosnells by 1 point.

While Ridge were good last week, I agree I cant see them or anyone getting close to Bassendean at this stage.

Reserves is also tight as you pointed out Birdman, it just reflects how close the top few sides re in C1 this year. To me right now while Bassendean are in front, we are just warming up and anything is possible before the season ends.

Good luck Saturday to everyone, may you kick straight and may your beers be cold afterwards
