Finally a dry day and a reasonably fast track this week.

Bullcreek need to beat Hamersley this week and should do so fairly easily.

Hamersley's Reserves lost last week in a result surprising to some. To keep the opportunity for a double chance this year, they must do better this week. With no Colts and an aging Reserves list, I can't see a happy future for Hammersley.

Carlisle must beat Kenwick easily this week, both for the 4 points and for a much needed percentage boost. Stumble in either and it will be no finals this year.

Gosnells vs Melville MOTR. Both need to win to give themselves the chance of a double chance this year. How will Melville handle the wide open spaces of Gosnells Oval? Expect a narrow Gosnells win but wouldn't be too surprised if the result went the other way.

Thornlie coming good at the right end of the season should be too good for Ocean Ridge. If they haven't already, time for the Ridge to stack their Reserves?

Premiership favourites Bassendean will thump a really disappointing Warnbro.

Good luck to all teams.

With four weeks to go the business end of the season is upon us.

Bullcreek v HC
Bullcreek come up against a Hammersley side that are now just waiting for the end and the dreaded double drop to C2 football for 2020.
creek should get the job down. i think the more interesting game will be in the reserves. With HC having a L last week that game shapes as a massive one for top 3
i think Birdman meant to say HC with no colts and an aging reserves list not Carlisle. has anyone ever done the triple drop before?
Creek by 21 points

Carlisle v Kenwick
this should go to plan for Carlisle who will be out to keep their own season on track, a loss here and the 5 you would think will be set, just a matter of what order
cant see Kenwick getting over the line though and the flame will still be burning for the boys on Orrong Rd come saturday night.
Carlisle by 60 points

Thornlie v Ocean Ridge
Ridge have been unlucky all year, they are prob sick hearing that to be honest but coming up against a side that is in really good form will test them and im not sure they are up for it. With some good colts coming through and a very competitive reserves side only good things going to happen for OR. Thornlie are ticking along very nicely and will win this game. im tipping to be a lot closer than people think though
Thornlie by 23 points

Bassendean v Warnbro
Premiership favs will get the job done against a disappointing Warnbro who have fallen right away in the back half of the season.
in the dry and at home this one could get a little ugly
Bassendean by 60+

Gosnells v Melville MOTR
Match of the round at Gosnells Oval on saturday.
4 v 5 and the winner plays finals and a shot at BCL 3rd should results go their way.
Expecting this to be a good game with a lot of contests.
Can Gosnells use the ground to their advantage or will Melville try to tighten it up to suit them a bit more.
ill take the Hawks at home in a close game
Gosnells by 9 points

Hopefully round 15 gives us another round of decent games. On paper there look like a few one sides matches, but football is not played on paper.

My tips for this week are as follows

Bullcreek should easily account for Hammersley. Its been a long couple of years for the boys at Hammersley. To the old players that have been dropped to reserves enjoy the finals, but to the rest of the club hopefully you will play the last four games out in the right spirits.

Carlisle need to go big against Kenwick, They are two games and percentage behind fifth spot, so they need a lot to go their way in the last four weeks. All up the Carlisle boys will be happy with their year. Their colts have won a few games, and they continue to keep their link to juniors coming through. Like Hammersley Kenwick are just playing for pride in the last four weeks.

Gosnells v Melville is clearly match of the round. The winner will stitch up fourth spot and have a crack at the double chance, the loser should still play finals but may have to get success the hard way. I think during the year both sides have showed really good form. I don't think the big ground will worry Melville, and I think Gosnells will be up for the challenge. The have three big weeks with Thornlie and Bassendean to come. Gosnells can look no further than this week and I think they will win a bruising encounter by three points.

Thornlie should beat Ocean Ridge in a tight affair. Its definitely hard playing at Ocean Ridge. Hopefully Ocean Ridge will play their best players in the league side looking at next year and beyond and not chase a reserves premiership. If this is the case I say Thornlie easy, but if Ocean Ridge come to play it will be decided by about 20 points. Either way Thornlie are second for a reason so I will tip them.

The only thing Warnbro has in its favor this week is its playing at home. Even if Bassendean rest a few they have the depth to win all three games easily. I wonder if we will see a cricket score in all three grades from Bassendean this week. I think so as they consolidate top spot in league and reserves, and look to keep their double chance alive in the colts.

Good luck to everyone, hopefully the weather gods will be nice, and the tracks will dry out and allow some entertaining football to be played.

Make sure you all enjoy the beers afterwards.

Well, couple of fascinating results on Saturday.

Gosnells, getting a few players back from injury, get over Melville by 2 points.

Did Carlisle win by enough to get their percentage up enough to still remain a chance? Possibly.

The big result was Ocean Ridge's demolition of Thornlie. Whilst their year is over in the League comp, with both their Colts and Reserves doing well, next year could be their year.
