Bit of a gap now and on face value it would appear that we have 6 teams fighting for the prize now. But stranger things have happened and I’ve got a sneaky suspicion we are in for an interesting weekend.

Bassendean 1st v Melville 6th

No doubt the rams will throw everything at this and try claim a prized scalp. Basso are looking the goods though and should have the class to bank the points. Basso 5 goals.

Ocean Ridge 7th v Gosnells 4th

Gosnells can be iffy away from home. Ridge are coming from a long way back, probably too far. I’ll back them for the upset here though and keep their very faint hopes alive. Ridge 3 goals.

Kenwick 10th v Hamersley 9th

Battle for the spoon. You would probably only get $1.02 on both these clubs playing C2 next year. Kenwicks last real chance to break their duck. I’ll back them in. Kenwick 4 goals

Thornlie 2nd v Carlisle 5th

Carlisle got the job done last week like they should have. Have they got enough to take down Thornlie though I’m not so sure. But hey I’m feeling it’s a week of upsets. Carlisle by a goal.

Warnbro 8th v Bullcreek 3rd

Warnbro are far better at home rather than away. Creek haven’t looked as assured as they did st the start of the year. Think they might drop another one here. Warnbro 4 goals.

Round 11 is upon us, and it looks like being another wet weekend. I agree we could be down to six sides trying to fit into five spots on the ladder. Interestingly those six sides are in two groups. So my tips for this week are

Bassendean v Melville: should be a cracking game and my pick for match of the round. Melville one this encounter first time around, and nearly beat Thornlie last week. Bassendean will be keen for revenge at home and will set themselves for this game. I think Melville could be unlucky and go down by less than a goal again.

Ocean Ridge v Gosnells: At home in the wet Ridge are always a challenging proposition. Gosnells don’t travel that well and I agree with previous comments, Ridge will win a close game and keep a very small pulse in their season.

Kenwick v Hammersley: After getting close to Bullcreek last week I think Kenwick will want it wet so they can play some tough “wickers” football. I expect them to get up in a low scoring game.

Thornlie v Carlisle: Both sides coming of wins in trying conditions last week. Who has recovered best.? Neither side seems to have a lot of depth looking at their reserves sides, so based on that I’ll pick Thornlie at home in another close one.

Warnbro v Bullcreek: the creek are just going with a few key players missing. Warnbro will want to win against a good side to prove they belong in C1. Interestingly Bullcreek have lost twice in the wet this year, and that’s not a record you want to have if your playing at Warnbro in the last week of June. I smell an upset. Warnbro by two goals.

Good luck to everyone today. Enjoy playing in the rain and enjoy the beers afterwards.

Agree gents - some challenging games today. Probably no rain but a few wet grounds.

Bassendean and Melville likely to provide a close one. I think Bassendean just.

Gosnells off to South Geraldton to take Ocean Ridge. Can't see the Ridge getting up.

Kenwick and Hammersley also likely to b close but I favour Kenwick at home.

Thornlie and Carlisle is likely to be closish too, but Thornlie should win.

Suspect Bull Creek will make a mess of Warnbro.

Enjoy your day everyone and stay dry.
