With the amount of negative press that footy gets from time to time, I'd like us to share some good news stories to balance the ledger.

The Saturday before last one of our Ocean Ridge players broke both his Tibia and Fibula during the second quarter against Whitford in the D1 Reserves game. It was an unfortunate collision while he was in the act of kicking and there was no question about any players actions in the contest.
I'd like to acknowledge the players, coaching and support staff of the Whitford footy club for their support to care for our injured player while we waited for the ambulance to arrive. For the entire Whitford team to come over and clap our player as he was loaded into the ambulance shows the true spirit of community football.

Look away if you're squeamish.

Great to hear Vicko21!

It is good to see community spirit is alive and well in the Perth Football League. MrM thinks too often people forget that it is just community football and that most people still go off to wok or study on the Monday following the weekends game. Whilst winning does feel good, there is more to football than just that, winning isn't paramount, enjoying yourself is!

And having beers after the game Mr M. That is an important part of community football

I don't think this is an isolated case, there has been significant change in ammo ranks in the past 5-10 years in my opinion. Plenty of respect amongst the clubs.

Great to see and am sure we will see similar marks of respect and sportsmanship in 2019.

Best of luck to the fella who owns that leg. Hopefully he gets back up and out there sometime in the future.

There's definitely a good amount of respect towards each other between the clubs these days. White line fever of course will take over at times but as longs as everyone shakes hands as soon as the siren goes then that's fine too.
Most clubs will at some point in time have a rowdy supporter or two who creates a nuisance on any given day, but hey creates a little bit of atmos which can be good. As long as it never turns into anyone jumping on the field and doing something stupid like we saw last week by that complete flog in the junior ranks then all good.

The world isn't perfect and nor will ammos footy ever be but as long as the frothies are cold after 4 hard fought quarters then that will put a smile on my dial.

Positive local footy story happening at Anning Park this Saturday arvo with Ako notching up his 200th CLFC senior game. Great commitment and loyalty shown over the last decade and a half from this stalwart. Has a career goals tally of 2-3, and this includes pre-season scratchies and intra-clubs. Isn’t known to enter the forward half of the ground.
Should really be downgraded to a 0 pointer with this many years of service.
