Well we all know Monday is GoT day, so bare this in mind when requesting write ups from MrM, because MrM is on Social Media ban until he has watched GoT, and my goodness gracious me, what an episode, what a slaughter it was…a bit like Saturday really.
MrM does love strolling down to Charles Riley Reserve a good place to watch football indeed and MrM was definitely happy with the effort the Colts players from Wanneroo made as they were ahead at 3quarter time, but ultimately fell short, a good lesson for the Colts side though, 80 minutes of football is needed to win a match. North Beach did look very undisciplined though, even getting some cards…not sure what point they were trying to prove.
MrM ventured to the canteen at the end of the Colts game and word on the street is North Beach have outsourced their canteen to a sponsor which delivered the goods, the chips were nothing special, but given it is the first away game this season MrM has been able to purchase hot chips, it gets a 7.5/10 for me. Side note, MrM asked for a hotdog and received a sausage sizzle…these two items are completely different and should be expressed as such when ordering.
It was clear from the outset of the Reserves game though that North Beach was a far superior side. Is this because North Beach cannot fit some league players into their side due to points? Good overall club depth? Or Lack of ability and depth from Wanneroo? It could be a combination of all 3.
Either way you look at it, Wanneroo were outplayed and outclassed, North Beach were unstoppable. To answer an earlier question about the Wanneroo Reserve’s although MrM doesn’t go to trainings nor selections just turns up to the club Saturday, you can see a vastly different change in personnel. Only 7 players from last season’s Round 17&18 League side, remain the club depth is being tested…not an excuse just an astute observation.
In the League game Wanneroo were the side who came out firing and their first quarter were putting it right to North Beach, at quarter time North Beach coach was fairly unimpressed and let the players know with a few expletives added to boot. From there on it was all North Beach though; who controlled the way the game was played.
MrM does not mind other teams winning, however letting teams know when you’re winning and rubbing it in, can seem classless and tasteless, something MrM doesn’t like. It is community football, its not the be all and end all of life.
MrM does digress though; it was a good day for North Beach but little else to write home about for Wanneroo.
Still a while to go in the season, so anything can happen.
Not sure people are underestimating Scarborough either, it is clear they are the absolute benchmark.
