After the fruitful discussion last weekend MrM is back again for some more Perth Football League A Grade action. It is good to see the banter alive and well and MrM has even made a new friend, if you ever run into MrM “The Preacher” it will be MrM’s shout, as he loves what you bring.
Sadly no gif this week for MrM’s followers…next week he will find something special.
Plenty of big games for all involved this weekend, one thing all can remember though at the end of the day it is community football, something that seems lost on a few people MrM happens to converse with. Football should be fun for all, which will be MrM’s next campaign, make football fun again!
As we settle for a month period of campaigns, MrM’s campaign, turned crusade has fallen of deaf ears for some, especially for what MrM bare witness to last weekend. No hot chips, fair enough Uni students, they are really hard to cook and potatoes are really hard to come by…
SO MrM had to settle for a toastie made right in front of MrM (no qualms about this, MrM LOVES freshness) but made with no gloves on? An interesting technique, however the game needs to be lifted ladies and gentlemen, standards need to be higher.
All right, let us look at this weekends matches, MrM cannot wait.
North Beach v University @Charles Riley Reserve
Both these sides got their season off to the exact start you would want. North Beach managed to outlast TA’s despite the latters attempt to rough a few up (MrM hears and sees things) but will relish being back at home this weekend against an opponent who were slick last weekend. Uni were good last weekend, but can they bring it to the big boys of the competition they way they disposed of Wanneroo last weekend. I think North Beach will be too good here.
North Beach by 4 goals
Kingsley v North Fremantle @Kingsley Park MOTR
Settle down MrM what are you doing some would say, well it is a Grand Final rematch, and first ever A Grade game at Kingsley Reserve so it’s this weekend’s Match Of The Round.
Both sides looking to get there season underway, Kingsley had a tough ask last weekend away for Round 1, but back at home, should feel more comfortable against a familiar opponent. North Freo fell short against another quality side last weekend but would take their chances this weekend. Out of both Grand Final sides, I can see North Freo getting slightly stronger and will get it done this weekend.
North Fremantle by 2 goals
Scarborough v Trinity Aquinas @Millington Reserve
Scarborough started the season in grand fashion last weekend with a good win and will be looking to do exactly the same this weekend when they a face a side at risk of slipping to 0-2. TA’s will not wan to lose here but they have been in worse spots and made finals (like last season). They should come out firing, but will take a lot to stop the Scarborough juggernaut.
Scarborough by 3 goals
Wembley v Fremantle C.B.C @Pat Goodridge Reserve
Wembley will be looking to rebound after losing last weekend when they were up against an opponent they would have fancied beating. They would be counting on winning those games and won’t want to lose to many more of those games. Freo CBC had a good win last weekend and did what they needed to to start their season accordingly. I can’t see Wembley winning here
Fremantle C.B.C by 3 goals
Wanneroo v Kingsway @Wanneroo Showgrounds
An exciting rivalry resumes this weekend and MrM is excited to see what’s in store. Wanneroo faced an uphill battle last weekend, but will be looking to rebound when they return to home this weekend against a side who did win last weekend, but Wanneroo knowing there best is good enough. Kingsway managed a come from behind win last weekend, which is always a good way to start the season. Should be a good game here and plenty of spirit to be shown.
Wanneroo by 2 goals
Good luck to all this weekend.
To UnHolyTugBoat “the social media monitor” I hope this wasn’t cause for concern for you.
