Wesley-Curtin’s stay in the newly-rebranded Perth Football League’s B Grade competition might be a short one if their recruiting is anything to go by.

Craig White has taken the reins at the Tigers, who were relegated from the top flight at season’s end, and he’s managed to pull a few of his retired South Fremantle teammates along with him. The 34-year-old, who will be a non-playing coach, has added nearly 450 games of WAFL experience to his list.

Former West Coast and South Fremantle star Ashton Hams is the biggest name of the lot, with 205 WAFL appearances and 39 AFL games under his belt. Hams called time on his WAFL career at the end of last season after two Simpson Medals, a best-and-fairest award and a premiership.

Clever goalsneak Cory Dell’Olio, who kicked 225 goals in 109 games for South Fremantle either side of a 16-game stint at Essendon, is another huge inclusion. Fellow ex-Bulldogs Jarrod Parry (37 games) and Mitchell Carter (34), a former Carlton rookie, are also on board along with former Peel Thunder duo Brennan Gillam (35) and Rhett Mason (28).

And three-time Bernie Naylor medallist Ben Saunders is a chance to join them after retiring from the WAFL last month following 292 majors in 112 appearances. Saunders, who is working his way back from a hamstring injury, is expected to train with Wesley-Curtin in the coming weeks as he weighs up whether to play in Perth or take up one of several offers to play in the country.

Blunder I cannot see that group fitting under their points cap. In any regard looking at the age of these guys I dont think they will be able to run out a full game against the younger fitter sides.

Major, majority of them played League footy for Souths last year, I think they'd be fine to run out in B Grade of the PFL

Major, Hams is the only one of that group over 30 - most of the others aren’t even close, so I reckon Blunder’s right. If you are in your mid to late twenties and have played WAFL the previous year, you really should be able to run out a game at B Grade amateur level unless you have had a big, big summer!!
