Well the time has come for MrM to give his final write up of the year and it will be a shame that MrM must go back and do some work on Thursdays. With 3 very exciting games of football this weekend MrM is excited to see how it will all unfold. MrM will be perched upon the hill soaking in some sun, earphones plugged into the wireless and ready to enjoy it all. If you see MrM in attendance give him a shout (of beer that is) and MrM will make sure to mention you next week. MrM does feel bad for Scarborough though, having to play on the second biggest ground in WA, and not at the biggest down at The Mill.
MrM loathes to bring this up about his former club, but Bassendean Oval has not been a happy hunting ground for them either, I think they have lost all past encounters there except one, someone please correct MrM if they are wrong.
Because MrM is a unique individual and has nothing better to do with his free time, seeing as the elusive MrsM has not bothered to show up for the entire season, he often scours local clubs Facebook pages to see if anything noteworthy deserves a mention. However, this week seeing as most clubs had finished up MrM decided to check out the WAAFL website, lo and behold they have decided to creep in on MrM’s turf and do a grand final preview for the A Grade. Now MrM isn’t a spiteful person, so he can let this one slide. The only disappointment that MrM faces is that he will concede perhaps the WAAFL review may be better. I am happy for all to decide…
Let us look at the three games, MrM will go in the correct order. Due to this game being broadcast on ABC and MrM having no affiliation with the company who owns naming rights, MrM will stick with the correct title of the ground.
Colts
North Beach v University @Bassendean Oval
In an exciting Colts encounter here we have two of the form Colts sides of all season facing off against each other. North Beach upset University in the second semi-final to advance straight to the Grand Final and will be looking to repeat that form. That have the best player in the competition (according to umpires) and will be out to once more end University’s run as A Grade powerhouse. University should be smarting after losing last encounter after hardly dropping a game all season. That is why MrM will be tipping University.

Reserves
North Beach v Trinity Aquinas @Bassendean Oval
Two clubs with great depth and it’s no surprise to see them both in the Reserves Grand Final here. North Beach managed to get the job last season and will be wanting to repeat that again this season. MrM witnessed the North Beach side move the football very well and could be bolstered by a few names coming into the fold. While Trinity Aquinas have shown they are equally as capable and will know there best is good enough to get the job done. Given these two have had close games all season and close Reserves finals in the past, this game will be another close one and could even tip into extra time…MrM says North Beach will get it done though after 5 more minutes each way.

League
Scarborough v Fremantle C.B.C @Bassendean Oval
This big dance is here for both sides and given they have been the strongest performing teams this season they were an obvious choice to be Grand Finalists. With WAFL and AFL experience on both sides, this will be a high-quality game and no football in WA everyone should attend.
Scarborough have been fantastic all season, only dropping 1 game (to Freo CBC mind you) but have taken all before them and after building for a few years is this the season where they can finally finish it all off. A good midfield, with a good forward poses a big problem to anyone, but Freo CBC may just have the power to match in both areas. Fremantle C.B.C will know if they can get the ball moving forward enough times they will be right in this match and given they have enough ball winners to do so, then it could be a possibility. This will be one of the better A Grade Grand Finals in MrM’s eyes, but Scarborough will get it done when it counts and run out winners.

Good luck to all, MrM will watch with envy.
