Have not seen anything on here about this so I wondered if anyone could shed some more light on this? North Fremantles D1 league team has been booted out of finals after playing unregistered players versus North Beach, which means North Beach will advance to play Uni in the prelim final. The beach were on a 6 game winning streak and took care of them last time they played, so perhaps they felt they had to take this risk to secure a win? It is a strange decision when all clubs know everything gets stricter in regards to playing unregistered players come finals time. The president was apparently confronted and they owned up to it straight away.

Didn't North Freo get accused of this or something similar in a grand final last year against Mount Lawley?

If you look at the player who was ineligible I think you’ll find it was more of a mistake than a deliberate attempt to cheat

A third side now that "i know of" has been 'done' for playing ineligible players in finals.
Nth Freo, Belmont and last year if i remember correctly Wembly?
Thus withdrew from relevant grade finals.

I have no doubt it was accidental ....but pls someone explain the logic of a club (mine) getting accused (wrongly) of offering some sort of remuneration (travel money) to a player which even though at our said club for nine weeks under examination admitted never received a cent or knew how much the offer was "supposed to be"

Result..club found guilty. Coach who has committed nearly two decades of support to community footy and club president suspended for all club involvement for around six months (reputations ruined) suspended fines of $400 plus and a tiddler club hit with $2000 fine as well.

Oh but thats not all...ressies and league pulled from finals and league ineligible for year after!

The sooner there is a new broom clean out of this 'community' organizations the sooner we can build much needed credability!

Yes definitely double standards. Your club The Cobras were incredibly hard done by when you compare it to what has happened here. I m pretty sure st least 3/4 clubs a year get done for playing unregistered players in finals

from my understanding if you had played colts all year, you could play up in finals but only at the highest grade. This wasn't the case on the weekend where a player played reserves with their league still in contention? Maybe I am reading this wrong but doesn't add up to me but has been cleared by waafl. Not sure if this is a grey area or not?

Highest Grade means just that.

North Fremantle's highest Grade is B Grade.

so does b grade mean league and reserves or just league in your opinion.

ie if your League are out of finals can a Colts player go play Reserves? Or Thirds? If they haven't played the 5 games qualifying in that grade.
