Well done to Ballajura in deservedly being promoted to B grade where they will be competitive next year and may even climb into the five with some smart recruiting.

Balla were a class above Basso for most of the day yesterday and snuffed out Basso with a dominant performance in the last quarter in front of a very vocal and happy home crowd at the fishbowl.

Balla were not so lucky in the ressies going down to Quinns by 7 points. They will bounce back and account for Basso next week who looked very unfit in the second half of their game against Gosnells and might loose a couple to the league team who have a few injury concerns after a hard run up and finals campaign.

This week I am tipping Willetton to be too strong and will beat a battered Bassendean in the qualifying rematch after easily accounting for an inept and unfit Gosnells league outfit who were just never in the game at Burrendah in front of a disappointingly small crowd.

This will set up a tantalising grand final against the Royals where it will be the pace of Balla through the middle versus the tall marking power of Willo.

Great work by Ballajura and congrats to all involved. Will certainly be competitive in B grade.
Agree with you Major that Willeton will be too strong for Bassendean on Saturday.

In the ressies Ballajura must have had an off day or Quinns might have been stronger with their league side out allowing them to drop a few back that qualified. With Gosnells getting up over Basso on Saturday and with their league side now eliminated they will also be stronger and Ballajura may bow out in straight sets. Gosnells for me

I tipped against Ballajuras colts last week and they got up by 3 points over Melville. With Bullcreek going straight through it sets up a great match up between Bassendean and Ballajura. I think Ballajura will get it done.

Just wondering.... if balla and willo face off in the grand final do either club have a clash jumper?? As from memory both a dark and similar in colour.

Willetton have a set of sky blue clash jumpers they wear against the likes of Ballajura and Kenwick.

My bad I meant Gosnells will be playing Balla this week in the ressies after easily accounting for Basso. Correct Crampedup Gosnells will most likely drop a few who are qualified back from the league this week after being convincingly beaten all over the ground last week. If Balla can still get up it will be a very good win.

What a great week of finals last week A fantastic day and some great football. I like the rest of Perth it seemed rocked up to a massive crowd at the fishbowl to see some great footy. Only caught the end of the colts, in what looked like Bullcreek were going to win by a big margin, but Bassendean rallied and kicked 4 or 5 unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes of the last before Bullcreek steadied the ship and cemented their Grand final spot with 2 goals. Well done to these young lads who have taken on what I thought were the 2 best teams in Bassendean and the Rams and come out victors.
In the reserves it seemed to be an even flow through out with not a lot of difference on the scoreboard but to the boys at Balla looked flat and a couple were down on form. To their credit they continued to scram all day but Quinns seemed more determined and kept enough control of the game to progress through to the grandy.
Onto the League, Well I thought I better secure my seat as the crowd wash heading upwards of 1000 with everyone ready for this game to begin. Unfortunately, but as expected Ballajura controlled the game from the start and continued to move the ball quickly and direct as they do. During the third quarter Bassendean rallied and started to play their brand well and closed the margin to what looked like a good last quarter was about to develop. Not sure what the coach said at the break, but Ballajura pot a stop to that producing a fantastic last quarter to win by nearly 10 goals and progress through to the big dance. Congratulations to them
Now onto this week.

Bassendean Vs Willetton
These teams had a tough scrappy game a couple of weeks back and this one should be no different. It will boil down to big forwards. If the delivery can be quick and on target Willetton will win. If Bassendean can control the pace of the game they will win. Should be a beauty but Im tipping Willetton to make it through only just and because I think Bassendean may not get up fast enough after their encounter with Ballajura

Ballajura Vs Gosnells
Both clubs should have access to some league players this week with Gosnells out of the league and Balla sure to have players qualified for both. Both teams are 1 all, but after watching Balla last week apart from being flat last week still managed to stay in the game with Quinns. Im thinking that won’t happen twice in a row and they should bounce back this week and claim the win. Ballajura for me

Bassendean Vs Ballajura
So here I have to eat my humble pie. Ive spruiked up the young Rams of late and got pumbled on this page by the likes of by the likes of Engaged Josk and the big dog. Then I said Basso were the team and Bullcreek have beaten them both and the Rams are out. Well this week Im not tipping but am expecting a great game Basso will be trying to get back in this whilst Ballajura have done it the hard way but they keep on winning.

Good luck to all teams this week the weather should provide a great background for the footy to be played

Well what an incredible game yesterday between bassendean and Willetton.

The oval was terrible with pot holes everywhere and sand covering s lot of the ground it made for an interesting game.

First quarter bassendean came out firing with Willetton looking a bit sluggish, midway through the first it was a similar story as the last with Willetton missing 3-4 shots from 30m out and bassendean not missing a goal. That big fella for bassendean just doesn’t miss a goal, would have to be one of the best kicks in the comp bassendean went into the break with a slight edge on Willetton

In the second quarter it was all one sided, with Willetton running from the half back and linking nicley through the wings and middle. It looked like the game was starting to get away from bassendean when willettona full forward went down and got steetchwred, seemed as though this could have turned the corner for bassendean but Willetton got a couple of quick goals and just before the break the umpire gave a strange on the boundary line 40 meters out and somehow he managed to put through the big sticks.

In the 3rd it was all one sided as Willetton got on top and won in the middle, it managed to get out to 328 points at 3 quarter time and was going to be a massive task from there.

Not much to report in the last quarter as it was a bite of a stalemate as I think there was only 1 goal kicked for each team, apart from the fact that Willetton has a 50m penalty to ice the game and their big ruckman gave it to the bassendean player and got the free kick reversed.

I can imagine that there would be a lot of sore boys after that game and will be a masssive task to get up and beat ballajura but they certainly have the potential
