Strange to see of the 12 teams lest in finals, 5 are new to C1 this year and 3 are only in their second year in C1. At least one of those teams will progress to B grade next year at the expense of Thornlie, who after going through the grades quickly will come back to C1 next year

Ballajura Vs Bassendean
Should be a beauty after Bassendean knocked of Willetton in a scrappy encounter last week they will be full of confidence going back to the fishbowl where the beat the league leaders by less than a kick. It won’t be the same wet day this time and I think Ballajura will be ready for the onslaught and should be able to tame the swans in this one

Ballajura Vs Quinns
Although this should be a good clash and Quinns have beaten Balla in their first encounter at kingfisher, Ballajura have been the form team in the back half of the season and look ready for this clash Balla for me

Bassendean Vs Bullcreek
Great game last week by Bullcreek to knock of Melville who have faltered at the wrong end of the season. Bassendean have been consistently good all year and smashed Melville in rd 18. Bassendean should win this one and progress to the GF

Willetton Vs Gosnells
I think these teams are 1 all but Willetton at home should prevail

Gosnells Vs Bassendean
Bassendean finished well last week beating Willetton by 3 goals. Similar margin to Quinns against gossies.im going Basso in this one

Melville Vs Ballajura
As I mentioned earlier Melville have faltered at the wrong end of the season. I thought they may have got a few back from the league side but going down to Bullcreek has to hurt. Can they bounce back against an inform Ballajura.im Not sure about that, but I am sure it will be a blinder. Early start to I see. Im tipping Balla in a close one here.

Hopefully I will see the Major and The big Dog when I venture down to the fishbowl on the weekend Once again good luck to all teams and to the clubs left in the hunt after the weekend.

Ballajura from the outside looking in seem to be a very well run club. With the colts winning 5 flags in a row before a minor hic up last year it goes to show how important a strong junior feeder club is as I am sure Ballajura have a strong relationship with the junior club. Big call I know but I am tipping Ballajura to be in A Grade within three to four years and consolidate themselves as one of the premier clubs in the WAAFL.

Bassendean have come on in leaps and bounds and if they win this find themselves in B Grade again after being in C2 last year. Someone must be doing something right down there and credit where credit is due, they just keep on getting the results. Just by looking at how the colts are going shows that if they can keep them juniors filtering through they will keep improving.

In saying all the above I believe the finals disapointment from last year will be burning deep inside for the Ballajura boys and they will win the league game easily and will make it two teams in the GF after their ressies record a comfortable victory early in the day. At Burrendah Willeton should account for Gosnells in the league game and Gosnells will take care of Bassendean in the ressies and then their ressies to strengthen up after their league side are out.

In the colts I think Bassendean will progress straight through. In the other game Melville will prove too strong and defeat Ballajura. I am tipping Melville to go back to back.

Good write up Lozza and agree with your tips. I will be checking out another game this week unfortunately but I will take a rain check on that beer. Fine conditions this week should suit Balla for a win in the league and should see them win in the ressies and colts.

Ballajura have been beaten this year so I wouldn't 'ink' the Grand Final winner in just yet. All the Clubs still 'live' at this point have had good seasons and I wouldn't write any of them off.

Ballajura have to come up with teams for 4 finals this week, with Bassendean, Willetton and Gosnells all having to come up with 3.

I suspect the depths of some of these Clubs will be tested.

Ballajura looked a class above today. Challenged in the 3rd by a fired up Basso side but rose above with a dominant 4th quarter in front of a very large and vocal crowd. Will be very competitive in b grade next year for sure
