Loving the C1 banter over the last few weeks as we all prepare for finals footy or seasons end. Even though the ladder doesn’t show a lot its been a great season and apart from Stirling who have struggled for numbers since round 3 all other teams have had a crack at different times through the season. To think that Kenwick and Melville both survived relegation last year and now 12 months later Melville are clinging on to a finals spot. What a difference12 months and a few injuries can do. Its great to see both Bassendean and Gosnells are in finals of C! after coming from C2 last year. With Thornlie and Ballajura doing the same thing last year, it shows that there is not a lot of difference in talent between the 2 grades but some luck with injuries and a colts team helps.
Onto the last week of the season
Ballajura Vs Stirling.
Hopefully Stirling will field 2 teams, so they can stay a 2 team club but that’s all this game will produce. Ballajura to enjoy this one

Gosnells Vs Bullcreek
Gosnells have had a couple of good scalps of late and will need to win this one to guarantee their spot in finals. Bullcreek can cause an upset but I doubt it, Gossies by a couple

Bassendean Vs Melville MOTR
This is the game of the round and of the season. The Rams banter has been fantastic this season and now they put it all on the line against a side who has continually fought for the home ground final over the last few weeks even knocking of Ballajura at the fishbowl. I think Bassendean will be two strong at home, but anything is possible

Quinns Vs Carlisle.
Quinns fighting spirit has helped them to a few scalps including Melville last week but they do match up well against Melville. Carlisle have been to up and down this year but need to win to stay in the 5 I think they can do it and should win but not by much

Willetton Vs Kenwick
Willetton have been in great form of late and should go into the finals in second spot Willetton by 5 goals

To all the sides that will finish this week go out on a high and enjoy the break. To all C1 teams in finals including the ressies and colts good luck

Love your recent contributions EJ - great to see someone other than the higher socio economic fan base that you affectionately refer to as the “Ram Clan” posting on ozfooty. I too grew tired of the ongoing game of soggy biscuit that they have continued to play over their pie eating, muffin stealing weight scale defeating full forward.

Tips for me this week:
Balla to score 200 points and continue their flat track bully status against Stirling
Gosnells will win and throw at least 18 gaff inspired haymakers in the process - lock your cars bullcreekers
Quins and Carlisle I couldn’t care less to be honest and hope both teams have fun -would love fuel prices to drop prior to Saturday for the Carlisle boys
Kenwickto get up in an upset with the big Grubb kicking 6 - Willetton need to avoid complacency as kenwick genuinely are an ok side that just lack on or two extra players
Bassendean will pump Melville - tipping their larger than life full forward to kick eight and their Sri Lankan winger top get best on ground honours sending the Melville league side home where they can ram each other during their mad Monday celebration

All the best everyone and say hi if you’re at kingfisher
quote="Engaged Josk" post=153800]In my humble opinion, to which many of my fans out there would agree, the banter from the Ram Clan has been nothing short of embarrassing this season. It is almost like those muppets; Get Around Him, Golden Fleece, Freo4Flag, and the other no names of the Clan, sit around there local library, circle jerking over a Melville win against Stirling of all teams. I implore those member of the muppet squad to make the trek north to Bassendean's home ground to watch your team get mauled. Stop being such fair weather supporters and get behind your team for the last time in a long time, because there is more chance of Harold Holt rocking up at Sorrento beach this Saturday than your rabble of players playing after this weekend. Get ready ladies, because old Joskie will make this one off journey up to Bassendean, to stick it up the Rams, and watch those sheep flock back to their Auskick ground, just lucky you can see it from the bar, aye Get Around Him ;)

All the best to everyone else this weekend;

-EJ[/quote]

Well, it’s only taken 18 weeks but we finally have some more contributors to this fine site! It’s great too see that the passion has been brewing and finally warranted 2 new commenters signing up and making their feelings heard about the unjust and embarrassing comments being made by the newly named ram clan. Apologies to you both, I didn’t realise that having a biased view towards the team you follow on a public forum was such a crime. I can only assume it has taken you 18 weeks to comment due to you coming from a low socio economic suburb, and due to not being able to acquire one through illegal means, the only access to a computer has been at your local library or community centre and I’d imagine the waiting list would be huge? Anyway, I’m sure your “fans” are appreciative EJ.

Anyway back to the footy which is why we are here. Last game of the year for some, some with a lot to play for and other hoping to get through unscathed with the finals around the corner. Been a great year in C1, to enter the final round with finals and relegation spots up for grabs just shows how close the comp has been this season.

Dream fixture for ballajura before the finals and a nightmare final fixture to end a nightmare season for Stirling. This will get ugly and will probably follow a forfeit in the reserves.

Goalless at home would go in favourites but bullcreeks form over the last 8 weeks can’t be ignored. Add that to their need to win here to put relegation out of doubt and it’s a recipe for a good performance. Gossies have a home final to play for and will be keen to find momentum into the finals, so should win by a comfortable margin.

Quinn’s were good last week, hungrier and cleaner in the wet than the Rams. Carlise have had an inconsistent season but still find themselves in the mix for finals. Massive game for both clubs, but I’m tipping quinns at home based on what I saw last weekend. Will save their fate and seals bullcreeks.

Willetton arguably the form team at the moment, flying and cemented a home final in week 1. Kenwick another year just above relegation and just below finals. Certainly haven’t embarrassed themselves since coming to C1 but won’t be their day tomorrow. Willo by 5 goals.

And finally, the MOTR Basso vs my beloved Rams. There has been plenty of circle jerking at rams stadium this week trying to figure how how the stampede last weekend just didn’t get started after the warm up. Couldn’t be a different scenario coming into this game from
The last encounter. This time in round 9 rams were on a winning streak after a slow start and basso were in a form slump following a great start. The roles are reversed here. Won’t be much in it, a couple of goals either way but shock/horror and to the disgust of some readers I will tip Melville!

Good luck all, enjoy the weekend.

Good Evening All
That's round 18 done and dusted
I made the trek up to Jubliee nice and early this morning
Rams didn't get off to a good start with the colts losing top spot Basso too good
Magoos was all over quickly Rams belted
The main game well again not a good result for the Rams
I will have to eat Humble Pie as predicted by Enaged Josk the Rams
Went tumbling out of 5th spot and the finals.
Rams had no answer after quarter time Bassendean to quick&slick
The Ram Clan pretty quite after quarter time&Bassendean canteen
Sausage Rolls&Hot Dogs 10 out of 10
So to all in the finals good luck.
As for the Rams back to the paddock for the off season.
Look forward to your banter next year EJ unless you get a promotion

Great round of footy my ballajura boys got the biscuits across all grades - great result for the club. The most interesting game of the day was our colts who seem to be peaking at the right end of the season and could be a threat come finals - Bassendean and bullcreek look the only other half decent sides.
Elsewhere good to see Melville put their best foot forward and embarrassed themselves - the rumour mill tells me the Sri Lankan winger got best on. For gods sake tag him Willetton!
Would be interested to hear from someone at that game cause the score line tells me that Melville were more interested in the ram clan circle jerk and enjoying the smell of their own farts than actually attempting to get a half decent result - over to the ram clan and engaged josk for their takes!

Carlisle played their role and look dangerous going into finals

Would be interested to hear how Grubb played for kenwick as well

Best of luck to quins and Stirling in the lower grade - can see quins yoyoing back up but can’t see much happening for Stirling.

EJ

Some good notes mate but 6 posts in 2 weeks does not make you the king of Banter in C1. Even though some of the Rams are know to have a Bias at least they contribute weekly. Lets hope you provide some quality posts through the finals to live up to your "King" Status
