Well here we are again back for another week of football, with things heating up as the season progresses. As we inch towards September the top3 are the benchmark of the competition, but then again TA’s showed last season you can win it all from 5th on the ladder, so you only need to make it to be a contender.
In other football news MrM has been enjoying the World Cup action and cannot wait to see what Australia has in store for us later tonight.
If you haven’t been watching, because you are a fool and an Optus member well MrM cannot sympathise with you any bit.
Now we all know MrM loves two things in life, the golden deep-fried potato, and women. Well this weekend MrM is looking forward to seeing both of his loves together as it is Ladies Day at Wanneroo, which has seen MrM step up his game as he searches for a potential MrsM. MrM can only hope this is his year he musters up the courage to talk to one of these lovely ladies, but you never know.

We can happily take bets on how we all think MrM will fare, however the odds are so short it wouldn’t even be worth your time or money to spend. Now I know what some are thinking, MrM you are a narcissist and we shouldn’t indulge in your behaviours. Well you are probably correct, but this is an open forum and MrM always marches to the beat of his own drum and will continue to do so (Unless he finds a MrsM who says no).

Alright, some football now.

Wanneroo v Scarborough @Wanneroo Showgrounds

As both sides do battle for the MrM Cup, it is looming as a make or break game for Wanneroo this weekend. They face a very good Scarborough outfit and they will be hoping they can turn around their recent run of bad form. Scarborough on the other hand will be looking to just keep on keeping on, but it won’t come easy this Saturday, against a Roos aside, backs against the wall and a huge home crowd with 5 teams at home. They say always back self-interests, as you at least you know they are trying, so we shall.

North Beach v Kingsway @Charles Riley Reserve

North Beach were overrun last weekend against an excellent quality outfit in TA’s. While it is ok to drop the occasional game, MrM think they will be out to rebound very strongly this weekend, against Kingsway who had a convincing win themselves. Kingsway will be hoping for a much better showing against North Beach this time around, they may put up a better showing, but cannot see them winning this one.

Kalamunda v Fremantle CBC @Ray Owen Reserve

After all sides around Kalamunda last weekend managed a win, it is looming as danger time for them as they face the prospect of relegation. It doesn’t get any easier for them though, because they face the undefeated Fremantle CBC. Freo who have been travelling along very nicely are yet to drop a game and this weekend may not be the weekend they do. It will be closer than expected, but Freo to win.

University v Trinity Aquinas @UWA Sports Park

In a game that was nearly MrM’s choice for MOTR, we see two sides who will be looking for a much-needed win this weekend. University will be hoping they don’t fall behind too much with the others on the ladder and need a win this weekend to make sure of that. Same with TA’s, they need a win to keep their top 3 aspirations alive, and make a gap with themselves and the rest chasing them. Should be a good game, but TA’s to strong here.
Trinity Aquinas by 3 goals

Wembley v Curtin Uni Wesley @Pat Goodridge Reserve MOTR

In a game that has huge implications for relegation this is clearly the Match of The Round. With both sides needing a win, it may be all on the line for both here. Wembley will be hoping they can supply their dangerous forward line with enough of the ball so they can out up a good score on the board. While surprisingly, Curtin Uni will be hoping the same. Should be a good game, but the wombles to get a good win.
Wembley by 3 goals

Good luck, should be a good weekend for football.
