Well MrM hopes everyone is refreshed after a weekend off it certainly has been a very big week for MrM. Whilst most people enjoyed a lovely weekend off, MrM was hard at work making sure could give everyone here what they deserve. What does everyone deserve you may ask? Well that is a comprehensive look at each weekend’s games.
In fact, MrM took up a spot on the couch and did not care to much for what was happening in the outside world, so for those who suggest MrM has no life, you are correct. We are now nearly half way through the season and we will know more after this weekend, so MrM cannot wait for 5pm Saturday afternoon and see the results flowing in.
In off field MrM is closer to making sure all are rewarded, with details still being finalised with MrM’s accountant you will know more soon. In other news, MrM has heard from his good friend boothead after he sent MrM a nice post card from Darwin. Whether in fact he is there remains to be seen, but it is good to see he is indeed alive and well.
Lastly there has been plenty of talk about evenness in A grade and MrM likes to think all would play by the rules, for those in the lower grades who think payment of players is rife, then they are misguided according to MrM. If you go back in history and look at club’s colt’s performances and then the years of success that follows in Reserves/League sides you will see why the likes of North Beach, Trinity Aquinas and University have been able to maintain themselves. MrM cannot wait for a points system as it may bring equality…unless it is like the WAFL points system where it is easily manipulated and not effective in the slightest. But it will reward those who support their junior affiliated club and colt’s systems.
Apologies for the lateness, MrM lost track of time yesterday.
Let us indulge in some football for this weekend.
Trinity Aquinas v Scarborough @Bill Grayden Reserve MOTR
In a huge game for both clubs, this game is quite easily this weekend’s Match Of The Round.
TA’s will not want to lose touch with the top of the ladder as a loss would mean they would slipto2 games behind the top3 (assuming results go the way MrM thinks). They will be looking for a strong showing here against a formidable opponent in Scarborough. Scarborough have only dropped the one game and will know they will have a tough match here against a TA’s side wanting to win. I think will be very tight, but the boys from The Mill to win in a close one.
Scarborough by 2 goals
North Beach v Kalamunda @Charles Riley Reserve
North Beach are moving along quite nicely and will be there or thereabouts come the season’s end. They will need to win the games they are expected to and that will be this weekend against a Kalamunda side who would have hoped for a better showing this season. Whilst Kalamunda sit on the bottom of the ladder, they are not to be counted out. It will be a tough game, but North Beach should be able to get through with a good win here.
North Beach by 4 goals
Kingsway v Wembley @Kingsway Reserve
Another big game for both clubs here with the battle for the “Former East Perth Players Cup”. Kingsway will be buoyed after winning their biggest game of the season two weeks ago and they came out in force on OzFooty to celebrate, before they crawled back to wherever they hide. They will need to be on their game here though as Wembley will want the win just as much. Wembley will need a win here to avoid that relegation slot they could potentially slip into. Will be a close one, and it pains MrM to say, but Kingsway may win here.
Kingsway by 2 goals
Fremantle C.B.C v Wanneroo @Morris Buzzacott Reserve
Freo CBC have a good chance here to get through the first round of home and away games undefeated. They seem to become better as the season rolls along with potential big-name players wanting to come down and play, but this weekend they face a Wanneroo side hungry after a disappointing week before. Wanneroo will be kicking themselves after a loss two weeks ago, but will be ready to come out firing this weekend. Many are counting them out, but MrM will go with his heart here and tip with what he knows and we all love an upset.
Wanneroo by 1 goal
Curtin University Wesley v University @South Oval
The battle of the University’s fitting taking place when all should be at home studying for exams. Curtin have been relatively disappointing thus far and with plenty to improve on in the next ten games to avoid relegation. If they can improve, you never know what can happen. University are a side who will be looking to make an impact come finals time but will need to start that now and have a good potential to give themselves a game and percentage buffer in the top5.
University by 4 goals
Good luck to all this weekend. Brave that harsh weather and play our favourite game in the best way possible, tough but fair.
