We are back for another week heading into Round 8 and MrM needs a rest and is definitely looking forward to the bye next weekend. For those who know MrM he relies on these breaks to spend his Saturday’s reading the broadsheet newspapers and finding something that interests him. Next week, MrM may even do a little bye week special, but more on that later.

We start with some sad news though and that is the departure of Boothead, we all know moving to Darwin is a nice facade, but in reality MrM using his OzFooty privilege (like parliamentary privilege) will say he thinks you have been given the cease and desist from the club in which you are involved. I for one liked your opinions Boothead sir however MrM can clear a few things up. MrM does enjoy how you called him big fella, however standing a shade less than 6 foot tall and having the body size of a pre pubescent teenager would lead one to believe nothing about me is big. MrM never has quiet ones either; however I know those who wear teal enjoy a nice shandy, so I shall indulge if we ever meet.
Of course you can have input, when MrM was studying abroad last season he was voted best poster in all football forums (one vote was cast, my own) so join in form time to time.
Lastly, MrM is very much looking forward to this weekend and quite sad you will not be able to join in this day. MrM had something very special planned as well, but he might keep that under lock and key for now. This also means you miss out on MrM’s special offer coming soon, you loss Boothead, our more importantly our loss!

Alright let us look at football, I suppose.

Scarborough v Curtin Uni Wesley @Abbett Park

If the rain predicted comes in Friday and Saturday then I look forward to seeing this game played underwater as Abbett Park is prone to flooding...don’t believe MrM, just wait and see.
Scarborough will be disappointed losing last weekend and will want to make up for that in a big way, but they do face a Curtin Uni side who is desperate to win as well. It hasn’t been an easy season for Curtin Uni, but I expect them to come out and show plenty of effort here. They will still fall short though, but will be closer than I expect.
Scarborough by 4 goals

Wembley v North Beach @Pat Goodridge Reserve

Wembley got themselves a good win last weekend and will be hoping to replicate that form this weekend but as well per usual they may have all their good form stopped by a team that is on a roll. North Beach was very good last weekend and moved the ball very well. If they can play like that this weekend I expect them to walk away winners once more.
North Beach by 4 goals

Kalamunda v Trinity Aquinas @Ray Owen Reserve

This is a big game for Kalamunda if they are to make anything of their season they will definitely need a good showing against a quality opponent in Trinity Aquinas. They will need to stop the supply to the dominant TA’s forward line if they are to win. TA’s are starting to string some good wins together and this weekend may loom as a danger game for them. I do expect them to win here though.
Trinity Aquinas by 6 goals

University v Fremantle CBC @UWA Sports Park

In a game MrM nearly awarded Match Of The Round to, MrM is looking forward to a good battle here. University had a very good first half against Kingsway last weekend and will want to replicate that if they are any chance to defeat the unbeaten Freo CBC here. Fremantle CBC, currently undefeated and are flying, who will knock them off first is anyone’s guess, however MrM thinks it could be this weekened...When MrM says could be, it won’t be as he is going with form.
Fremantle CBC by 3 goals

Wanneroo v Kingsway @Wanneroo Showgrounds MOTR

Well this game has everything, Mayors Cup, Grand Final Rematch and the battle of the Roo which is why it is this weekend’s Match Of The Round.
Wanneroo were not so good last weekend and will want to perform better when they face a tough side in Kingsway this weekend. Kingsway haven’t had the greatest introduction to A grade, but things may turn for them. It promises to be a very good contest and MrM is looking forward to see how both sides match up and given the usual animosity towards each other, added in Past Players Day at Wanneroo, doubled with Wanneroo 3rd’4th sides having a bye and just like nuts on a strawberry sundae, finishing with a huge night game the grandstand will be full. MrM think it will be grand.
Wanneroo by 3 goals

Good luck all. As MrM said, he had something planned for Boothead this weekend, but seeing as Boothead is a nonstarter, does anyone want to volunteer to help MrM out?!
Thank you in advance.

Got to hate those club social media policies sometimes.

Should be a ripper between Wanneroo & Kingsway, being the first time they have met in A Grade.

If I get the chance to stop by, I'll be sure to buy you a beer Mr Mysterious

Given that BootHead is in 'Darwin' I thought I would give my early take on yesterday's game.

The weather man had me worried all week about the proposed 100kph winds and rain coming in sideways but even the weather gods wanted a great day of footy and that is what we got.

Well once the Colts game finished anyway. There were 2 sides on the field but only 1 was playing football. Nothing makes me angrier than a pretend tough guy who wacks people behind the play and then sh!ts himself when the ball is near him, number 1 from Kingsway is that guy. A bit of advice for the Kingsway colts, follow the example set by your Reserve and League sides and you might actually come close to winning a game of footy.

The Reserves game was one of 2 halves. With Kingsway playing some really good football in the first half before Wanneroo owned the 2nd. Or so we thought, being 9 points up with 70seconds to play. Kingsway managed to kick 2 goals In that time, following some team and individual brilliance by number 5. It was one of the best finishes to a game of footy I have witnessed and they celebrated accordingly. Just a shame it didn't fall our way.

That left us all wanting more and we got it. It was again Kingsway who played the better footy in the first half. Their new game style has definitely clicked into gear, their transition and ball movement from defence was good to watch. Wanneroo defenders had the impossible task of trying to stop their big forwards, who were getting silver platter service.
Wanneroo come to play in the 3rd and showed glimpses off their best but Kingsway pounced on every opportunity and replied straight back each time Wanneroo clawed one back.
The last quarter belonged to Wanneroo but it was Kingsway who wanted it more, they showed more heart and got a well deserved win.

On a side note, I normally love the atmosphere that the Wanneroo crowd generates at home games. However, Yeateday I felt they crossed that line between good atmosphere with witty banter and poor behaviour. Luckily though that behaviour didn't reflect the spirit in which the league game was played.

I look forward to MrMs review as always to see how he saw it.

Well we saw results pretty much the way most people expected.

As for what MrM witnessed on Saturday ChampKinds you seemed to have summed the game up completely well, however MrM spent most of the day mingling with people he was glad to see and that was the past players and heard no comments made by any crowd members. That is not to say anything occurred, as MrM heard second-hand some comments that were made.
Both immature and probably not 100% accurate, but MrM says perhaps both crowds needed to be reflect. MrM did hear some banter was quite witty, some was just odd, but as MrM didn’t hear anything directly, then it is all just hearsay. I did hear a rumour one Wanneroo crowd member has lodged an official complaint…but again, who knows!

Colts, Wanneroo seemed to do things better than Kingsway. I do agree with the assertion that some certain player/players need to be better equipped in terms of not trying to assert his authority. However, MrM knows some of these people are repeat offenders, so no surprises.

Reserves would have to be one of the most bizzare games MrM has seen. Just when they thought that Wanneroo had won, Kingsway bobbed up kicked 2 quick ones and won…Well done though, was a good game.

League, well Wanneroo never really looked in it and had a tough time getting their hands on the football as Kingsway seemed to move it with ease. The forwards would have been licking their lips seeing that ball flowing forward with sometimes no pressure.
Wanneroo did manage to fight back a little, but it was too little too late as Kingsway seemed to have the answers. Wanneroo’s young boys tried to get them up, but it was to no avail.
Still plenty of work for both teams to do though for the rest of the season.

Boothead where art thou? Surely you must have heard some feedback. Even privately message MrM and he would love to talk.

I think whilst both crowds were getting into it. and a great turnout from Wanneroo for the Past Players day. Banter is Banter, Wasn't the worst. One Wanneroo supporter seemed hell bent on making Personal Attacks on the Kingsway players as they returned to the field, but it was all in good fun. things nearly took a turn for the worst at 3 quarter time however, but common sense prevailed. Credit to both teams supporters for realizing that it is a game of footy.

On a side note. I am, a huge fan of chase the sun. So great atmosphere. and Mr M. All these years you were correct. The chips are supreme!

Always a good look when the Ex Wanneroo President is walking around the ground after a 10 am start on the cans yelling abuse all day. And I believe a complaint has been made about the 10 young Wanneroo supporters drinking cans and abusing players at the 3Qtr huddle. If only the spectators from both teams behaved like the players of both league teams. Enjoyed the Benny Hill music when Kingsway ran out rather amusing Mr M.
Thoughts on the lights being up to standard Mr M it was tough to see the game after half time across the other side

See ya for the return game.

Ps
Bring back Boothead not a club ban as we don’t know who he is?
