Round 6 already, where does the time go ! Starting to get a picture of who the top teams will be, and who will be facing a relegation battle with the middle of the pack as tight and unpredictable as ever. Weather for this weekends games looks a barmy 30 degrees again, whilst the apocalypse looks to be brewing over the east coast.
Interestingly looking at scores it hasn't been the highest scoring year with a score over 100 only been reached 8 times in the first 5 rounds. Cant blame the weather, teams doing the right things defensively!

(I'm adding a 5 game form line next to teams names from now on)

Quinns (LLLLL) vs Sttriling (WWWLL)
Thats a lot of L's for Quinn's, and would feel strange for a usually successful and consistent club. Stirling have hit a wall after looking good for the first 3 weeks, comprehensively beaten in the last 2 rounds. At home, Quinns will be too good in this one, I'm tipping them to get their first win by 24 points. They will sweep the day, reserves comfortably too.

Carlisle (LLLWW) vs Melville (LWLWW)
Probably the two hardest teams to pick this year. Carlise started the year terribly losing the first 3, but came back with 2 solid wins. Melville looked gone after a dismal round 1 against Gosnells, but have found form the last month with their only loss by 2 points away to Stirling. Tough one to tip, will be a goal either way I would suspect. Melville by 3 points.

Gosnells (WWWWW) vs Kenwick (LWWLL)
How can I tip against Gosnells? Especially at home? With all the off-field issues plaguing them the last month they just continue to get it done on Saturdays and are the only remaining undefeated team. Kenwick are similar to Stirling in the fact that they have a competitive core group of league players, but will struggle for depth when calling upon their reserves. Probably could have just stopped after the first sentence. Gosnells by 74, their reserves by 150.

Bassendean (WWWWL) vs Ballajura (WLWWW)
Two teams 4-1, and this will be a cracker ! Looking forward to the results from this, Basso started the year on fire but fell at their first real hurdle last week and come up against another one this week. Ballajura continuing on their merry way, after dropping that round 2 clash to Melville they have regained the confidence of tipsters who had them as flag contenders pre-season. I'm tipping Ballajura in this MOTR by 11 points.

Willeton (WLLLW) vs Bullcreek (LLLLL)
Willeton join Melville and Carlisle as the mid-pack sides after 5 rounds who on their day could probably win against anyone, but capable of losing the un-loseable. Bullcreek are in big trouble, without a win, 2 games clear of relegation safety. Looking forward their next 3 matches against Quinns, Basso and Gosnells could seal their fate by round 10. They are a real possiblity of being 0-9 and 3 games clear of 9th spot. With Quinns a big sniff, they could be the only team without a win come 6pm Saturday. Willeton easily in this one I suspect, 22 points.

Have a great weekend everyone, and happy mother day to all the mums out there !

Great write up again Get Around Him. Its always good to read your thoughts each week.

Quinns vs Sttriling
Quinns at home in this one. Stirling have stumbled and don't have the depth when they lose blokes. Quinns are getting close to a win took it right upto Balla last week and will win this one

Carlisle vs Melville
Both sides have shown some good form and will be a close one. I favour the home team here but not by much.

Gosnells vs Kenwick
Gosnells will keep the winning form going here.

Bassendean vs Ballajura
Will be a great game with Basso coming of there first loss and will not want to have 2 losses in a row. Balla are going along without much fuss and with a couple back by the looks they will be getting close to there best. Balla by less that a kick Again

Willeton vs Bullcreek
Although I don't think Bullcreek are that bad, I think there losing streak will continue as I think Willetton will be to strong at home.

Good luck to all teams get plenty of water as it looks like being a fantastic day

3/5 on this hot weekend, with a couple of shock results.
The first one is Kenwick beating Gosnells! Wow, I certainly didn't see that coming. Perhaps all the off-field distraction faced by Gosnells finally caught up to them. Doesn't get any easier for them either with Balla around the corner.
The other shock was the score in the Carlisle vs Melville game. Massive blow out ! I thought it would be close by Carlisle were way too good. Casts a bit of shade on the Rams form over last month, and definitely a case of 4 steps forward then 6 steps backwards for them.
Other results probably as suspected. Balla too good for Basso, Willeton easily over the Creek and Quinn's over a disappointing Stirling.

Ladder is intriguing. Balla and Gossies 1-2, Basso drop back after losing 2 in a row and then 5 sides all at 3-3 congesting the mid ladder. Massive games this weekend with 4 of those 5 sides facing each other. So could call it moving round as there is a top of the table clash, as well as bottom of table clash ! Wont get into too much detail until my round 7 preview later in the week but its set up to have massive ramifications for the remainder of the season.
