Well well well what a massive week we have coming up this weekend. Some huge games & some that will be huge in what this season will look like, lets get into it.

Trinity Aquinas vs Fremantle CBC @Billy Grayden

This is a huge game between two premiership fancies. Trinity Aquinas put Wanneroo to the sword last week with a huge hundred point win, and are arguably back in their premiership winning form. They come up against a Fremantle CBC side who were tested very well by Kingsway last week and will be extremely disapointed with their last quarter. Could really go either way here.
Trinity Aquinas by 2 Goals

North Beach vs Scarborough @Chas Riley MOTR
Well what a massive game this is between two of the biggest rivals in the WAAFL. Scarborough are absolutely flying, undefeated after four rounds of football and have won every game by over seven goals. Whilst the beach have been good but have suffered just the one loss in their last home fixture against CBC. What a game.
Scarborough by 1 Goal

Kingsway vs Wesley Curtin @Kingsway Res
This is also a cracking game with this result so important to both sides to have any realistic chance of finals football. Kingsway come off a impressive performance last week against a strong CBC side and did everything except win. They come up against a Wesley Curtin side who lead North Beach for a half last week but eventually fell away. Kingsway simply have to win this game and they will.
Kingsway by 2 Goals.

Kalamunda vs University @Ray Owen
Kalamunda have been struggling ever since a round one win and will be in serious pain after a hundred point flogging last week. University have played some good football but have also played some poor football but once they find the consistiency they will be hard to beat. They will find some of that consistiency here.
University by 4 Goals.

Wembley vs Wanneroo @Pat Goodridge
Wembley and Wanneroo will both go into this game thinking that they have a genuine chance. Wanneroo were shocked and probably put in their place last week by a slick TA's side and will not be embarassed twice in two weeks. Whilst wembley really are in need of a win and this will be a tough one under lights at home.
Wembley by 1 Goal.

Good write up BootHead.

Someone very interesting games of footy this weekend, fingers crossed for some tight contests.

After witnessing the faultless performance last week from Trinity and the fact Fremantle C.B.C are unbeaten, this is my MOTR. It will be tight to the end, Trinity by a point.

Should be a great game by these to giant clubs. North Beach to snap the unbeaten run of Scarborough, just, 5 points.

Another tight game here with Kingsway to take a lot of confidence from last week. Kingsway 12 points.

University should be too strong for Kalamunda, by 3 goals.

I am looking forward to watching these two teams battle it out under lights. Wanneroo to bounce back, by 2 goals.

Well what a week it has been for MrM not only was it the final for Bachelor in Paradise but MrM also managed to outdo and reach new heights once more and get 9/9 in AFL tipping. It is not MrM sits here and gloats about the fact that he indeed a step above everyone else in life, because quite frankly, MrM isn’t.
MrM is just your regular man, a man of the people, which is why many revere MrM. MrM’s wisdom and knowledge of local community football goes far beyond your regular deckchair supporter, MrM knows you, but do you know MrM.

As promised MrM said he would keep you informed of his online dating life, well it’s been a tough week, MrM may hit up Ross Lyon to see if he has any tips on what to say...Clearly MrM jest’s, don’t come after me Ross the Boss.

Great work Boothead you are definitely moving up in the world, not quite upper echelon, but keep working and you may soon arrive. Let us have a look at this week’s football action.

Trinity Aquinas v Fremantle CBC @Bill Grayden Reserve

In a game very close to the MOTR, (hard to go past a local derby of sorts...more on that later) we see TA’s looking to keep rolling after their impressive win last weekend. I am sure the TA’s boys will be very much buoyed after two big wins in recent weeks, although they face a big test here against the undefeated Freo CBC. Fremantle CBC has yet to drop a game this season, although they face a few big tests in the coming week. It starts here though and I expect TA’s to give it a good crack, but I think Freo CBC to keep on rolling.
Fremantle CBC by 3 goals.

North Beach v Scarborough @Charles Riley Reserve MOTR

The two coastal teams (why not) play each other as they face each other on the field, not on a river cruise like in 2017, that is why it is this week’s Match Of The Round.
North Beach will be hoping to end Scarborough’s unbeaten run when these two face off on Saturday but it is up to North Beach to stop the ball going forward as Scarborough have seemingly done that with ease over the first 4 weeks. Scarborough, will be hoping for much of the same when they face last season’s grand finalists easy supply to the potent forward line. I am thinking that Scarborough will be a touch to good here.
Scarborough by 2 goals

Kingsway v Curtin University Wesley @Kingsway Reserve

Although failing to win a game so far this season, Kingsway last weekend put in a good performance against a tough opponent, however good performances count for little when you don’t get the 4 points. They face Curtin Wesley who has been a bit of all sorts so far this season. They had a good win away, but the other games they haven’t performed. If things do not click this weekend, I can see them losing.
Kingsway by 1 goal

Kalamunda v University @Ray Owen Reserve

Kalamunda are another side who have failed to put in consistent performances week in week out registering only one win thus far. The come up against University who bounced back last weekend with a convincing win. It will be a nice trip up the hill for Uni who will no doubt be looking ot keep that winning feeling rolling on. They will here, but it will be close.
University by 3 goals

Wembley v Wanneroo @Pat Goodridge Reserve

Well night football is at Wembley this weekend and MrM is looking forward to it. Wembley had a tough time last weekend and will be hoping for a much better performance this weekend; they do face a Wanneroo side that definitely came away with its tail between its legs last weekend. If Wanneroo bring last week’s performance then it won’t be enough, however I am sure the Roos will rebound in the best way possible.
Wanneroo by 4 goals

Well that is it for another week, good luck to all people playing.

4 out of 5 this week with Fremantle C.B.C getting the job done over Trinity by the smallest of margins in what could have been described as the MOTR.

The other tips may have been right but the margins were not even close. Kingsway seem to have found their feet in A Grade with a convincing win over Curtin, I will be interested to read the game write up from Boothead.

It was a good day for Wanneroo. All three grades managed to win, which was the first time for the year.

The League was good game and closer than the margin shows. Both teams played patches of good, bad and undisciplined footy.
The biggest difference was the response from the boys following a rather large spray at half time. They came out on fire in the 3rd and that was enough to get the points.

I am sure MrM will give more detail and a much better account of the day/night.

Sounds like CBC & TA's was a cracker, would have been great viewing.

It seems A Grade has divided into two competitions with the top 4/5 teams being quite close and competitive but all a class above the rest who seems to battle it out in the bottom half.

With Wanneroo & Kingsway both getting wins this week it could make the end of season games huge for relegations spots. Not sure what everyones thoughts are on who will go down, I know that majority of people had Wanneroo & Kalamunda headed down at years end. I personally think at this stage it will likely be Kalamunda & Wembley to head down as they are struggling to get win's on the board.

Looking forward to next weekend with a few enticing match ups.

Look out world, MrM tipped 5/5.

Some interesting results though Kingsway get a huge win as Boothead can relax now after his spray he gave the boys, while the other games seemed reasonably close.

Unsure why Champ Kinds thinks why I would be able to provide a detailed account of the game...was MrM even in attendance?
He was and you seemed to have summed the game up very well.
Colts, were very good and registered another win.
Reserves came from 15 points down at 3 quarter time and hit the lead with a few minutes left and managed to hold on for a very good win.

League, Wanneroo started the game well, but Wembley fought back. After half time Wanneroo managed to control the game very well and came home with a good win.

Alright now let us get into the important stuff.
Wembley, canteen very good and very friendly, the hot chips were also quite good 8/10.
Bar was quite good as well, although $6 for a FatYak?! Obviously Wembley didn’t get the news about lowering taxes on boutique beers so they can sell for cheaper.
MrM had to settle for the green can, which seemed to hit the spot as well. 7/10

Associating themselves with a netball club may be the best thing Wembley has ever done. 10/10.
MrM has never seen so many women flood a football club, and get straight into the Moët et Chandon after coming from the court, it was very good to see them enjoy themselves as MrM searched for a potential MrsM... obviously it was to no avail, but always next week as MrM thinks Wembley may be the place to be.
Well that would be the case if it wasn't for a few indifferent fans who used some very crude words directed at MrM and his friends.

Couldn't agree more with your comments about the difference in class. It is hardly suspiring though given the long and successful history those clubs have had and the strong football programs they run. The cream is certainly rising to the top.

I think it is too early to be selecting relegation teams, results have shown that all those teams are capable of beating each other on their day. This trend will continue for the reminder of the year, with the battle to avoid relegation depending on which team has its off day when they play each other.

We can be sure that the fight at the top and the bottom will be an interesting one all year.

Fantastic day for the club on saturday with two wins & a heartbreaking loss in the colts.

The colts simply threw the game away, had numerous chances in the last quarter to finish the game but lacked the efficiency and it cost them badly.

The Reserves dug deep and found a win realistically out of nothing, but they deserved it. An undermanned team which is quite unfit & have been the whipping boys of the competition in recent weeks.

The League finally clicked & the new game plan was outstanding, they were class from start to finish and were rewarded with the four points.

Curtin & their truck left with the tail wagging, and kingsway with a serious smile. It doesnt get any easier this week however coming up against ladder leaders Scarborough. It will be interesting to see how the Scabs adjust to their new temporary surroundings though.
