Some massive wins over the weekend, Not a close game at all. I hope this isnt a reflection of the season and the result of no teams going down from last year.

Both clubs from C2 showing they can match it with the comp with massive wins.

Stirling coming down from B grade easy win.

surprising to see Willetton pump Quinns who made finals last year.

any match reports?

Definitely some surprise results, some not so. I don't think clubs will be hovering over the panic button yet. For example last year in round 1 Kingsley lost to Bull Creek and Noranda lost to Willeton so surprise results early can happen.
Was great to have footy back again !
I ventured out to Gosnells for the day. The oval and facilities out there are fantastic, a credit to the city staff and the club. League match was closely fought for 2.5 qtrs, but Gosnells turned it on for a large portion of the 3rd qtr to blow the game open. They are pretty slick and fast, so when they get it out wide and have open run they will be hard to beat on the wide expanses of that oval or any oval for that fact. When it was in the contest and being fought in close, Melville probably had the better of it so i think the same can be said about them at their home ground. Shane Yarran looked menacing however was pretty inaccurate, and Jayden Woods will probably fill Andrew Fisher's boots as the premier mid in C1.
Depth wont be an issue for Gosnells, Suspect they benefited from Kelmscotts demise as their ressies looked very even. Again, the Rams were in it for 2.5 qtrs but a half hour period from the end of the 2nd to 3qtr time where Gosnells piled on 12 goals was the difference.
Rams won the colts convincingly. Talented side who could go a long way to defending their title.

Some interesting results!
Is it Willetons year?
Crows feet- in regard to C2 sides coming up they did play Melville (should have been relegated last year)
And Carlisle (finished 8th) so can’t take too much from it to be honest.
I saw the Stirling game and they had a couple of good forwards kick some nice goals and take some strong marks. Their depth will be tested as always though
